Are you saying all these violence have been causing by sharing the land between Jews and Palestinians, or have been causing by one side attempted to monopolize the land?
You can read Zionist writings as far back as 1895.. They always intended to have it all and expell the Arabs.
Anyone that reads and understands the Bible would know Moses was was a Levite, a decendent of Levi, meaning he wasn't a Jew, decendent of Judah. Jesus was also believed to be a decendent of Levi, the only Israel decendents allowed to interpret the teaching of God and keeper of the Ark. The Church either lacks the knowledge of refuses to acknowledge the Jews have no legit claim to the land. The Askenazi Jews weren't even there until they started taking boats there post WW2 invading similiar to the current immigration issues out of Mexico. Its sad that so many Americans feel they are of Gods people but don't even understand the Bible. They tend to enjoy preaching sessions at church that pick and choose inspiring portions of the Bible to read. I know in school few Americans test well enough for Advanced courses in school bringing in question their reading comprehension.
not true, before the Arabs attacked Israel, everyone planned for Israel and Palestine to be a joint Jewish - Arab state. The Arabs spoiled that.
Sure, just like the Hatfields and McCoys. http://www.blueridgecountry.com/archive/hatfields-and-mccoys.html
Land belongs to whoever can defend it, and when they no longer can defend it, they lose it and it belongs to whoever took it. Then it belongs to who took so long as they can defend it, and when they can no longer defend it, they lose it and it belongs to whoever took it. Any other way of looking at "claims" to land makes no sense.
Check this out. It is a Map of Israel in the Time of Jesus. The Palestinians did not exist as a separate and distinct group of people when Jesus was alive. http://www.bible-history.com/maps/palestine_nt_times.html
Historically, the Romans destroyed the Jewish State of Judea and killed or exiled all of its people. The Romans wanted to wipe away all remembrance of a connection between the Jews and their land, so they re-named all of it "Palestinia" in honour of the Philistines. The land passed into the hands of the Byzantines, Persians, Arabs, Crusaders, and Turks. The Arabs and their Turkish masters had ecologically unsound customs so the Land became desolate and very underpopulated. It has been said that every tree in the Galilee was planted by the British since the Turks cut down all that they found to provide fuel for their railway engines. In the 1800s the Jews -- with British encouragement and protection -- began to return and resettle the Land, a process which culminated in the Balfour Declaration of 1917 and the British undertaking to prepare "the establishment in Palestine of a National Home" for the Jews. The original draft of the Balfour Declaration called for "The reconstitution of Palestine as the National Home of the Jewish people." Anti-Zionist assimilationist Jews in Britain caused the final draft to be toned down. The original intention was that ALL of Palestine would be given over to the Jews -- and so it should have been. Palestine then included the present-day State of Jordan. The so-called Palestinian people are the descendants of a mixed populace of local inhabitants together with numerous other groups of Muslims brought to Palestine from Bosnia, the Balkans, and the Caucasus by the Turks, and from the Sudan, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon by the British. Those who came to Palestine in the time of the British Mandate were, however, brought over only partly due to the anti-Zionist, religious, and ideological motivation of some British officials -- and mainly because of administrative and economical necessity. Jewish Zionists and capitalists were amongst their major employers (often at the expense of the Jewish Proletariat) and struggles were fought over this issue. Actually, the term "Palestinians" itself a masterful twisting of history. To portray themselves as indigenous, Arab settlers adopted the name of an ancient Mediterranean tribe, the Philistines ("Invaders" in Hebrew), that disappeared over almost 3000 years ago. The connection between this tribe and modern day Arabs is nil. The Romans, in order to conceal their shame and anger with rebellious regions, changed the references to Judea and Samaria by naming them Palestine.
That is not a map of Israel at the time of Jesus as Israel did not exist then and also the Palestinians are the descendents of various peoples who settled the area going back thousands of years and their offspring were around in the time of Jesus in that land..Bible history is not really factual..buy a history book and learn. As for God giving the land to the Jews..never happened..pure fantasy Island stuff.
No one in their right minds would convert to Judiasm. It's a difficult religion to absorb and there isn't any positive reinforcement from any known society to do so. I don't believe for a nannosecond that Jews did not descend back to the time of King David and before.
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...zlervhKlnzAW6pvsg&sig2=deeBtuiEks_mWwoiqw4b5A In Egypt's Eighteenth Dynasty about 1300BC, Habiru nomadic tribesmen were taken to Egypt as forced labor on building projects. During the reign of Ramesses II (1304-1237BC), Moses led twelve tribes--each believed to be descended from a great-grandson of Abraham--back to the Levant. This became a revered tradition--the Exodus--among the Israelites, Moses's chosen people. While wandering they forged a collective faith and identity, and received Mosaic Law on Mount Sinai. They then invaded the peaceful land of milk and honey, Canaan, with great slaughter. Another map from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, shows the supposed extent, some few hundred years later, of the Kingdoms of David and Solomon. Their description: "King David ruled Israel from 990 BCE to 968 BCE; and his son Solomon ruled after him until 928 BCE. David enlarged his kingdom and brought it to the peak of political and military power. Solomon "ruled over all the kingdoms west of the Euphrates River from Tiphsah to Gaza; he was at peace with all his neighbors" (I Kings, 4:24)." The entire 'David/Solomon Empire' lasted just 62 years. Note that the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers that 'Modern Israel' fills the entire area of British-Mandated Palestine. This rather more realistic map of the southern Levant, c.830 BC, shows the multitude of small states that actually ruled the area. The Philistine and Phoenician city-states, the kingdoms of Aram-Damascus, Ammon, Moab and Edom all existed during the time of David and Solomon, and for a long time after, but an Israeli propaganda map always has to show the wishful thinking of an aggressive state that then, as now, invaded all its neighbours. With the rise of the Assyrian and Babylonian Empires in Mesopotamia, some of the inhabitants of Judah and Israel were taken into captivity in Mesopotamia, to the East. The two separate nations of Israel in the north with capital at Samaria, and Judah in the south with capital at Jerusalem, went downhill at separate rates. Israel went into paganism first and God allowed them to be taken captive in two separate waves by the Assyrians. The Israelites never returned. I'm sorry, I'll read that again.... The Israelites never returned. Judah worshipped God a little longer, but God sent the Babylonians to take them into captivity about 120 years after Israel. Some Jews returned after 70 years to rebuild Jerusalem. But enough remained in Mesopotamia for Flavius Josephus, the Jewish historian, to say, 700 years later, about 100AD: "The ten tribes are beyond the Euphrates till now, and are an immense multitude, and not to be estimated by numbers." Around 200 BC some of the returned Jews lived as an autonomous people in the land of Israel, referred to, by most, as Judea, which at that time was controlled by the Seleucid king of Syria. The Jewish people paid taxes to Syria and accepted its legal authority, and by and large were free to follow their own faith, maintain their own jobs, and engage in trade. continued...
>>>To my own way of thinkin', that deed that the Jews received from God is a result of too much harsh sun and bad wine. Somebody was hallucinating big time.
Saying you are a Jew means you believe you are a decendent of one of Isreal's (David) children Judah who was one of the lines in the 12 tribes. The tribes as a group were called Hebrews and the land was given to the Hebrews, not the Jews. As the Palestinians are decendent of the Hebrews without question, they have ownership of the land and by living there for thousands of years. As for the majority of the Jews, they are of Askenazi (Holy Roman Empire/German) decent with at least a thousand years or more time living in the German region of Europe. There is question if they became Jews by passing and should not have any claim to Israel as they have been out of the region up until using terrorist tactics and a religious based decision by a US president to move into the region.
Palestinians came ashore to Gaza, they weren't indigenous people. Jews have been kicking around the middle east, and throughout the diaspora, some to Spain, some to Europe, to the Rhine, up through Czechoslovakia, some even to the British Isles, the "black Irish"...as it were. That's why they are called "wandering Jews". Faschtaste?
That would be a hypothesis rather than fact. As Jesus says those saying themselves to be Jews but really are not They are land poachers that didn't know better at the time and their leader led them in a path that is in all ways wrong. There is nothing in the Old Testament that goes along with the ways Jews worship and little indication they are some choosen people. They are the HRE and US choosen people to be delivered to the Middle East but they are wrong and an invasive group similiar to the asian carp that have over taken some of the US river systems. We are known to introduce invasive species to ecosystems.
Wow! You are really a Jew hater, aren't you? You and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad have a lot in common, don't you?
Who cares about the land.... The Jews tortured Jesus to a horrific death... Why? He was a threat to them... Not much different today. And so the monopoly goes.
Regarding the map purporting to be Israel at the time of Jesus. I am confused, in that it includes Samaria. Yet, we know from the Gospels, that the Samaritans were not Jews, and hence, would not have been considered Israelites either. Am I missing something here?
