‘As a Jew, I’m happier in Turkey than I’d be in Israel’

some Jews hate Arabs, all Arabs hate jews. All jews recognize the right of the arab states to exist as sovereign arab (or muslim if they prefer) states, 2 out of 23 arab governments (and zero arab streets) grant Israel the same recognition. Every public opinion poll in all arab states invariably comes to the same conclusion - all (not some) arabs hate Jews and Israel.

 

Rev there surely are many racists in Europe. No question about that.

But I like to think that we are not particularly racist, sexist, anti-semitic and intolerant as we were. In fact I beleive that most of my people reject the hatred that was so common in Europe for so long. Contrary to impression that one may have on this forum.

Anti-Semitism in Tennessee

I'm not fond of the knee-jerk cries of anti-Semitism every time someone is critical of Israel's policy toward the Palestinians, but this is the real thing.

The Anti-Defamation League on Monday condemned a flier circulating in Memphis that says U.S. Rep. "Steve Cohen and the Jews Hate Jesus," saying it "attempts to incite tension" between African-Americans and Jews.
The flier, which provides the name and telephone number of Rev. George Brooks of Murfreesboro, Tenn., has been in circulation since at least last Thursday. On Monday, Brooks took responsibility for the broadside, saying, "I sent that out."

The flier, which Cohen said he received at his law office in Memphis last week, reads in part: "Memphis Congressman Steve Cohen and the JEWS HATE Jesus. So Memphis Christians must unite and support ONE Black Christian to represent Memphis in the United States Congress in 2008. Simply because this Congressional district is predominantly black…

"It is the responsibility of the black leaders of Memphis to see to it that one and ONLY one black Christian faces this opponent of Christ and Christianity in the 2008 election."

Brooks said he sent the flier because the 9th Congressional District is "about 90-something percent black. That's the reason." According to the latest U.S. Census, in 2000, the district was 59.7 percent black.

I would love to immigrate to Israel, even if being Christian would make me a 'second class' citizen. It would be worth it because I would be closer to the land where my lord and savior, Jesus Christ was born and worked his ministry. And I want to move there to be able to defend that Israel against outside forces that seek to destroy Israel. That said ; I would guess that 98% of the anti-Israeli 'pro-anything' Arab members here at PF here have never set foot in Israel much less lived there. Their entire world view is constructed by anti-Israel propaganda tripe and other spun media. Some of the members remarks here at PF is confined to political issues/protest however others reveal a pro jihadist, anti-Semitic agenda and sentiment. The truth of that is so obvious. I make it my business to read everything I can get my hands on about Israel both pro and con. The usual suspects here mirror the propaganda. It’s all they know, and they accept it as 100% factual never questioning the source etc.

The USA while is overwhelming Israel friendly (with over 80% claiming Christian ID), however the anti Israel pro Arab (read Palestinian) forces are at work on the college campuses (where I volunteer) and remind me of the successful Communist propaganda efforts that effectively demonized the USA and her allies resulting in millions of civilian deaths in the killing fields of Pol Pot. The propaganda efforts are aimed at young naïve minds who are very impressionable. So the anti Israel voices are still squeaking but they are there.

If I understand this whole mess correctly, I feel he is being used as an example by anti Israel goons, when he clearly does not represent the majority if Israeli opinion. I agree he should be ashamed and stripped of his citizenship or charged with treason (although I would suggest using that charge to put the fear of God into him and that no criminal punishments be leveled against him).

I yield to you an resident of Europe. It's been a while since I have visited, and there was no racist or anti Semitic atmosphere evident at that time*, but I did notice in the last few years the rise of anti Israel sentiments by the so called world court and the UN.

* (there were no anti-USA sentiments either. If I had took to heart the claims on forums such as this one I would not have left the states unless I was wearing full body armor! I loved the people of the UK and the rest of Europe).

Yes, some of the members in this forum (the usual suspects) confers a distinctly skewered idea of reality as it really is. That is why I like to expose the purveyors of hate and extreme falsehoods at every chance. The truth may save a life. If a young or naïve person believes the anti Semitic tripe bandied around by members in these and other forums they may convince someone to support the wrong cause. When someone is sucked into an extreme anti- Israel, pro-radical Islamic doctrine it very possibility could lead to a ruined life that projects outright lies as truth.
