What goes through mine is that our elites are too bloody stupid to know how to stop a nuclear war once it starts. Or more dangerously, are too machismo-driven in the need to dominate?

I'm not sure how nukes would help the situation anyway.

    From the link.

A recent op-ed in the New York Times by neocon John Bolton sums up the basic concept which appears to be supported by virtually the entire US political establishment. Here’s an excerpt from the article:

“Today’s reality is that Iraq and Syria as we have known them are gone. ….. Rather than striving to recreate the post-World War I map, Washington should recognize the new geopolitics. The best alternative to the Islamic State in northeastern Syria and western Iraq is a new, independent Sunni state….

You can use Naplam or gas or chim weapons over a Nuke, no reason to use or even metion Nuke in Daesh context other than indimidate other countries.

Trump is an exception, therefore there is the anti trump media campaign. I hope that a reasonable force will have win in the United States. And the Bush clan and Clinton will go to the dustbin of history.

    Good point.
Our society has so much destroyed real Manhood that all that remains is for some one to pretend to be a Man by shooting off nuclear weapons and going down in a blaze of imaginary glory.
This may be part of the "reasoning" of US politicians and generals in their almost constant and vicious and treacherous efforts to get the Russians to react.

Turkey was part of the coalition, so it was given information as to where the plane would be and at what time by the Americans. It's the same as the coalition jets bombing the Syrian troops while pretending to be fighting ISIS. The real name for these things is treachery.

Okay, let's look at past events so we can judge future events.

Turkey shot down a Russian jet after being given the coordinates by Washington. No problem they were Russians.

The coalition bombs and kills Assad's soldiers. No problem they were Syrians.

If Russia drops a nuclear device on Isis and by mistake drops it on Turkish and coalition troops... No problem.
