Trump is many things, but senile is not one of them.

As for Biden, his senility is obvious. That Democrats think they can somehow conceal this or deflect attention from it is a testament to how degenerate and arrogant they've become.

Nobody, and I do mean nobody is paying attention to Biden right now. As the election draws near he will have to come out of hiding, open his mouth and then it is game over for the Dems.

Depends on how long Democrats can keep the country mentally imbalanced. Even many conservatives jumped on the COVID bandwagon in the beginning. Hell, even some libertarians did. Fortunately, many on the "right" are starting to come around. But Democrats are 100% committed to the miserable society they've created. Democrats want this to last as long as possible. Democrats never want things to be normal again. And that should be the Republican platform in 2020.

The left sees this as a huge opportunity to implant their warped vision of America. They so wanted the medical system to collapse under the weight of C19 so they could implement their national health care without opposition. That plan failed. The medical system kicked the crap out of CoVid, the medical system they said was a disaster.

They wanted it to destroy Trump, yet it is not. That is what drives them into the silly rage they are in now :)

You are correct about the overreaction of the right when this started. But it is coming around and next crisis it will remember this and act accordingly.

It was a giant cash-and-power grab by the oligarch criminals who've been plundering and oppressing Americans for over a century. Republicans and Democrats got together, once again, to shovel mountains of cash at big banks while throwing a few crumbs to the peasants. This is America's nadir.

We do, 100%. Whatever gave you the idea that we don't?

And 'our way of life' is exactly what caused this disaster in the first place. Besides, it's never coming back the way it was. The world has changed.

A crown that orders you to stay home must be ready to provide for you. That's what happened in the nations who went with strict lockdowns.

Meantime, anyone who goes into business is taking a risk, since they can so easily be impacted by broader conditions. The vagaries of the economy, natural disasters, pandemics, etc. If they haven't put aside enough money to survive a year or two without income, they probably shouldn't have been in business in the first place. Furthermore, why hasn't the mattress store adapted their business model to be pandemic friendly? People having been doing that everywhere. Literally overnight, in many cases. A chain of cafes is now manufacturing hand sanitiser, a chain of bakeries is now doing grocery deliveries of perishables (milk, eggs, butter, etc). If you're in business, you need to be ready to act on changes and opportunities, and you need to be prepared for the bad times.

I suspect their motivation is quite different to what you imagine. More likely they would prefer America was one of the FIRST MOVERS. Powerful enough to care for her citizens, and thus save the nation from protracted economic collapse.

Seems to me these Democrats are the ones who most want to see America come out of this in one piece. Which is a turnaround, I fully acknowledge.

I have to strongly disagree on that as well. Dependence on government should be avoided at all costs. The government is not the one providing, you are. I agree with adapting to a changing environment, but no business should be forced to close if they can operate under the same guidelines as Costco. Closing businesses, beaches, hiking trails is an abuse of power.

What do you think happened during WWII? Do you think everyone just went their own way, while Govt sat on their hands?

We can't measure our response to emergency against a vacuum (ie, no emergency), we have to measure it against other emergencies. You're literally comparing life in the bad times, to life in the good times - which is patently absurd.

What good is any Govt if it can't even protect its citizens? Protection of citizens is exactly the right kind of power for a Govt to exercise. In fact it's the ONE use of power we can all agree on .. irregardless of our politics. Neglect of the duty to protect is the real abuse.

Sounds like the typical homeless encampment. Sweet. Five "crazy checks", some old spokes for riding to the store, a half acre abandoned lot next to the old city park where the junkies come in the early hours to re-up. Sounds like utopia. Up at dawn, "farm" the passers by and harvest enough cash for a few 8% Natty Daddy's for the needed "wake up."

    Heaven!

What if the reopening is too late, and there's a Great Depression of near a decade's duration, and a world war has to be fought to bring back the economy, and people die by the tens or hundreds of millions?

What if Americans become so poor they have to eat out of garbage dumps?

Gosh, it's so hard to imagine Anthony Fauci engaging in fear mongering! I mean that's all he's done for 4 or 5 months now.

Is he the Boy Who Cried Wolf?

And comparing it to WWll is less absurd? Every abuse of power is done under the guise of "Its for your own good" In this case, the overreach is far beyond what reasonable people should accept. Give me one reason the owner of a hobby shop must close down under the threat of force while people can crowd Walmart to buy the exact same item? The only reason I see is that the king didn't lower his scepter and dub thee essential.

Government power should be limited to what people cannot do on their own.

That is the constitutionalist dumb argument that We the People cannot give the Government powers that individuals cannot have.

    Move to Somalia.

The so-called constitutionalists do not understand political philosophy.

Somalia has had a central government for decades. It's located in Mogadishu.

The only place in Somalia that is peaceful is where there is effectively no state, in tribal Somaliland.

Somalia is actually the perfect example of how the state encourages violence and instability.
