The coronavirus pandemic certainly fills the bill as far as disease is concerned, and as a result of the virus gifted to the world by China, we see churches being forced to hold services in the most unusual places, such as a Walmart.

    Or a Las Vegas casino.

In many places, mostly Democrat-run locales, churches are being restricted by social distancing guidelines when it comes to holding services and the faithful are forced to get creative in practicing their faith.

Ralph Reed, chairman of the Faith and Freedom Coalition, shared a video Thursday of Evangelicals for Trump worshiping in a casino because of a 50-person cap on religious gatherings imposed by Nevada’s Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak.

“Packed house at #EvangelicalsForTrump prayer & praise event in Las Vegas,” Reed said in a tweet. “NV Governor banned church services but casinos can operate at 50% capacity. So we are praying in a casino.”

This was great! Way to expose the hypocrisy of blue city, blue state mayors and governors. They severely restrict worshiping in church, at home with friends, even outdoors while allowing much different more generous regulations for secular businesses and purposes. It was a great plan to combine worship and a rally for Trump into an event at a secular casino allowed to be at 50% capacity for events.

    Genius.

Sociopath Sisolak tries to burn the Constitution, Nevadans say "No thanks."

    Kudos!

In local coverage of the event by the Las Vegas newspaper city and state governments pulled all the levers they could to block this event because they couldn’t stand that their opposition used the letter of their own rules to figuratively flip them the bird symbolically. This has been happening outdoors and in Walmart etc all around the country where believers are finding other venues to meet and worship and pray. For reference:

Here in rural red country churches are closed or on restrictions. Why do you overlook that factoid? No one has stopped any worshiping at home. In fact the church is just a place to interact with other worshippers, one can freely worship their deity in their mind.

In rural red areas the restrictions are less severe and more science based and reasonable, not vendettas against believers by god hating secular progressive politicians.

You should not be gathering in a large crowd, especially in doors, during a pandemic.

I do not know a lot about your constitution but I thought political rallies were not allowed in churches, so how could this Evangelicals for Trump of been held in a church?

    Agreed!

Watching the two videos it appears that there was definitely Social Distancing and mask wearing by the majority of the attendees.

There were a couple of instances of hugging and some of people not wearing their masks properly but overall it was the closest I have seen to doing it by the book. The larger conference venue with the high ceiling would have helped minimize the viral loading.

The danger would have occurred at doorways and people leaving.

If a church forgoes thier tax break then they can be as political as they want.

This was the scene at the Covidiot-in-Chief's Bedminster golf club as people drank wine and waited for him to appear.

Masks are the EXCEPTION and there is no Social Distancing.

We are not to assemble in our homes with family and friends for the purpose of having a religious service or Bible study in the 32 counties with 80% of the state’s population. Not sure how they’ll enforce it.

The place had a capacity of 1600 and was well less than the mandated 50% capacity rules for that particular venue.

Think that they will take the tax break from the church where the Lewis funeral was held with a capacity crowd that turned into a political rally? They didn’t even make those who went self quarantine after that at capacity indoor event.

    Not that I know of.

Note: Churches can speak on political subjects, they're just not allowed to endorse anyone.

For instance a church can endorse a anti-abortion agenda, but they cannot say "to accomplish this vote for X person/party".

No. And there is no need to. A church may host a funeral service regardless if its political or not. It is the attendees that are talking politics. Not the church.
