The anti-maskers are getting scary. The caller must be one of the 30% Republicans who say violence might have to be used to "save" America. Maybe DeSantis is one too, since he seems to enjoy egging them on.

‘F- - - off and die.’ Polsky receives another death threat, asks DeSantis to intervene
Polsky, a Boca Raton Democrat, received the call on the voice machine of her district office nearly two weeks after she went public with her decision to ask Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo to leave her office because he wouldn’t wear a face covering. The message was even more hateful than the previous half-dozen mean-spirited voice messages she received, she said.

“It’s shocking that it’s still going on,’’ Polsky said Wednesday. But more surprising to her has been the lack of compassion from Ladapo’s boss, Gov. Ron DeSantis, whom she credits for egging-on his supporters.

    yup

DeSantis needs to do a better job of monitoring the approx 21.6 million LEGAL residents of FL as well as numerous illegals. How dare he not be able to stop an ass-hat from making mean comments on someone's voicemail?

There's a difference between what message boards consider to be a possible threat in the interest of protecting themselves from liability and what actually constitutes a threat according to law. 'F--- off and die' 'die in a fire' 'die in a hole' 'eat sh-- and die' are all common phrases known to communicate a general perception of disgust and not considered to be an actual threat of physical harm...

AFAIK, when considering legal jurisprudence, "f... off and die," would not generally be considered as a death threat. Even saying things such as "I hope you die" or "Someone should shoot you in the head" probably aren't going to qualify legally. Even holding up a mock bloody-severed-head of a president doesn't constitute a death threat. Now, looking directly into someone's face and saying "I am going to kill you" may be considered as a death threat, unless you are a rich tennis player.

Odd that you would refer to a misleading poll to falsely identify an anonymous caller as part of that manufactured group. I think everyone can agree that those committing death threats/false flags should be held accountable.

Especially since the "f... off and die" was specifically in reference to her cancer. Sounds more like a death wish than an actual threat. Even the "we'll drag you out" was in the context of dragging out of office. The caller is an idiot, but probably not an actual threat.

I don't, but if you must mischaracterize the positions of people who disagree with you, then so be it.

So, then the caller says "we’re going to drag your ass out ” etc, its just business as usual in your view?

'We're going to (do anything physical)' is indeed a threat. 'F--- off and die' is not. As I already said.

"We're going to drag your ass out. We are going to make sure that we vote every single one of you [censored] like you, you stupid [censored]. We're going to get you out."

I don't doubt that she's getting actual death threats, and those need to be investigated, but this particular example doesn't look like an actual death threat.

    Well, this anti-masker said both.

They are investigated, and they are considered a threat.

Why did you center your OP around the one thats just a really rude and crass remark instead of the one that is actually a threat?

it's the push by Democrat voters and the DNC to attack DeSantis

here they have to use a person who gets crank phone calls as proof that DeSantis is a danger to all.

Be prepared for more of these idiotic attempts as Democrat voters realize that their votes have harmed this nation

I agree. This is not a death threat. More of an insult than anything

This is the state of liberalism today. A couple of nasty and/or crank phone calls becomes worthy of starting a thread in the PF US and World News section. The use of the word "shocking" for something that is not shocking, reflects the constant liberal use of hyperbole. And the "lack of compassion" comment is so typical of these people. Everything to them is about feelings. Maybe Polsky is just a little too sensitive to be in politics.

I didn't center it around anything. I quoted the link which reveals the whole story.

So, if someone tells your wife he is going to "drag her ass out" you'd just shrug and go about your business?

Caller was female. If you are going to respond, at least read the article and listen to the audio.

The claim alone was already worth not reading. Besides. It's 2021. Gender is fluid. Definitely could still be a man.

It doesn't matter who it was, because the called was talking for a larger group of people, which is why the "we" was used.

To any reasonable person who listened to the 1:09 minute audio it is quite clear that "we’re going to drag your ass out" is in reference to voting her, and others, out of office. Its obvious because the caller literally talked about it. And the "**** off and die" is not a threat for two reasons. It is a general saying that people use, normally at the end of arguments, to show disgust. The other reason is that AT MOST it referenced Polsky's cancer. But even that would be a stretch.

So, once again you have Democrats, and you, who are taking things out of context in order to push an agenda. In this case a smear campaign against DeSantis.
