It's one thing to tell people they have to wear a mask while they are in buildings outside their home. It's another to tell them they have to be injected with something that's questionable, has even killed a tiny number of people, and may not really even be very effective.

 

Do you know if she is receiving *more* death threats than she would receive had she not asked that person to leave her office for refusing to wear a mask? I'm not minimizing the validity of the concerns and, on the surface, it sounds ominous but what constitutes a "threat" to us may not fall within the "legal" definition of a threat. My ex threatened me during our divorce several times and the police wouldn't even take a report. A friend of mine is being stalked because I advised not capitulating to a blackmailer. At this point, it's just considered harassment.

I also am curious why she would think that DeSantis could do anything about this. I know that's your home state so you would know much more about that. What does she expect him to do and how effective would such remedy be?

And, why are these people acting like bratty children? ? Didn't some guy grab some kid that wasn't his over a phone camera or something? Is it boring down there? No other pastimes other than stirring the pot? Or has the heat just made everybody a bit more touchy?

 

She expected DeSantis condemn such behavior, but instead he trashed her in FOX News.

 

Oh. She was looking for public support not for him to actually cause the person or persons to stop.

She can't be surprised by that. He's always been kind of non-committal with anything that doesn't involve kissing up to Trump, hasn't he?

ETA: What I mean is Trump has never stood by his people and DeSantis is using his playbook. Look out for #1 and everyone else can go to hell no matter how loyal and dedicated they are.

Yes, to both points. She was looking for him to condemn it, but he did the opposite. DeSantis is not stupid, he knows Trump-style divisiveness and trash-talk can win votes in Florida, so he is going all-in with it. What a shame. I liked the guy at first.

 

Why wouldn't DeSantis use that playbook? Look at what it got Trump.

Somebody just posted about China saying that Biden looks weak because he apologized for the previous administration pulling out of the Paris Accord. I think that's wrong. It's not weak to admit when one has made a mistake and to take responsibility for it. It's dysfunctional to lie, blame, point fingers and cause a bigger mess so thinking Trump "looked strong" for being a bully is classic toxicity.

And, bullies will continue to be bullies because nobody is standing up to them. I agree, that's shameful.

If you think folks are getting this riled about a mask mandate - You ain't seen nothing yet. People are losing their jobs over the vax mandates -- the equivalent of physical violence via the heavy hand of the State -- and so it would be no surprise if fire is fought with fire.

I am sure Fauci is well protected but, would not be the least surprising if there was an attempt on his life.

 

Biden has spent too much time in China. Mandates work well over their. Biden doesn’t understand that you can only push a dual system of justice and accountability so far until free people start pushing back.

 

He's supposed to condemn threats of violence. Why is that so hard to grasp?
