The difference between sending tanks and "sending in tanks" is who is driving them. The only way to reduce conflict is for Ukraine to capitulate, surrender, chicken out, however you care to label it. Putin started it and a peaceful solution requires one side or the other give the other what they want. Right now Putin wants Ukraine and Ukraine wants tanks and F16's.

The Pentagon disagrees with you: https://www.politico.com/news/2022/...enish-weapons-stocks-sent-to-ukraine-00019333

Are you familiar with "POMCUS"? It stands for "Prepositioning of Materiel Configured in Unit Sets". Its equipment we have overseas, ready for troops to pick up and go to war. We are dipping into even that to give stuff to Ukraine: https://www.armytimes.com/flashpoin...s-for-first-time-in-wake-of-ukraine-invasion/

I believe it is the foaming at the mouth falsehoods and fallacy you have presented that is "absurd" .

"Absurd Ideas" - you making up a fiction and presenting it as fact ... is the main "Absurd idea" going on here

Hersh is an award winning journalist .. and has always been correct ... USA who is doing the lying .. which in fact is the Job of the Pentagon - CIA - State Department .. as Hersh has demonstrated over the years.

So who is "sucking commie dick" ?.. running around crying "Russia Russia Russia" at every turn if not the Blue Clown Car .. not Hersh .. who is a strong fighter for freedom of the press .. and not the Blue Clown Car who loves censorship and cancel culture.

Unlike my link and statements, nothing in your link details how we can not adequately defend ourselves at this point. It only expresses a need and desire to ramp up javelin production. Which I agree. Russia went full expansionist and the world is in a different spot to where it was yesterday.

Your second link details that we borrowed into the cupboard of equipment we would have dipped into if Russia invaded Germany. Well...they are invading Ukraine. Russia doesn't have an infinite supply of arms, so we are using this stock pile to further drain and neuter the Russian army.

Relax. Our war machine production will go full tilt and at the end of the day Russia with it's shrinking economy and resources simply can't keep up with this production. We are fine.

You don't just sit down at a workbench and make a Stinger Missile... the crystals used in the seeker head can take up to a year to "grow"... there are many "long lead items" in Stinger, Javelin and other systems which cannot be produced quickly. This engineering situation cannot be solved simply by throwing money at it.

i'm not sure why Russia would care if we deplete our war stocks. I don't see them invading ay NATO territory. I do, however, see them working in tandem with China so that when China invades Taiwan we'll have not much besides spitballs to use against them.

A promise does not have to be a treaty. The Budapest Memorandum is a promise but unfortunately a process with no teeth. So treaties are the superior way to go. Hence NATO is a treaty that binds the promise.

As long as we don't send our men and women to fight, I am for supporting the Ukraine.
