Yes, so difficult that they have the majority of contracts. You realize that’s not how racism works, right? Racism would mean white males would have a much smaller percentage of contracts. They have 57% which is the opposite of racism. You’re seeing a problem where there isn’t one.

Your only argument is that the majority get the contracts, totally disregarding the fact that as soon as a minority owner enters the competition the white owned businesses immediately lose, no matter what they offer. I don’t know why you chose to blatantly ignore this fact. These laws are the reason why many white middle class families flock to republicans every time you claim racial inequality. This won’t change until leftists realize that you can’t fight racism with racism.

 

That's not what they want AT ALL.

What they really want is to keep black people helpless, and they think the only way to do that is to keep insisting that they are helpless (remember, these people are white supremacists, as they believe they have all the power in this scenario). They'll do whatever they have to do to keep African Americans from self-actualising, or regaining the self-respect they had at the end of last century.

These are privileged white bigots, whose essential racism is off the charts. None of them have genuine relationships with non-whites, none of them can tolerate differences in culture, and none of them are capable of seeing non-whites as complete and capable human beings. They damn with the lowest of expectations, but not by accident. It's all by design.

The city of Chicago and many other organizations give preferences to all, except for members of specific race and gender. Which means they allocate resources and make it easier for members of one race to obtain such resources with ease, while making it difficult for another race. Not quite. The 'allies' (white supremacists), are terrified of sharing the riches and power with the very people they can least live with. That's why they're hysterically bent on reinforcing the idea of inadequacy and helplessness - knowing full well that a people who buy into that idea will never challenge the money and power elite. They also want to keep black people as far away from their own lives/homes/towns etc as possible, so reinforcing tribalism and re-establishing ghettos (by deconstructing law and order), is very important.

As I have said, basing the framework of affirmative action on the framework of the General Theory of Second Best is simplicity against the complexities of reality. Your interpretation of the General Theory of Second Best does not truly apply to the practice of affirmative action. You say that "equal treatment for identical agents is only optimal in the absence of distortions such as discrimination." This logic presumes that every single minority that is, say, applying to an Ivy League institution has been discriminated against, systemically or otherwise, and no white has been discriminated against. This is blatant racism; it's a form of bigotry of low expectations, as it assumes all minorities must have been discriminated against, and all require the benevolence of systemic racism against other parties, specifically whites and Asians, in the game. Unless you can show me how all whites and Asian-Americans have never been discriminated against, and all minorities, precluding Asian-Americans, have been discriminated against, I would say that your argument is moot as best, based on a terribly weak foundation.

 

First off, like I said in another post, African-Americans can be white, since white South African immigrants are African-American, too. I'm going to go out on a limb and say you are not for white South Africans reaping the benefits of affirmative action.

Second, what you just said is incredibly racist. If a black immigrates from West Africa, and his family comes from old money based on their gains from the transatlantic slave trade, how does he need to catch up to American whites? I understand why the govt employed affirmative action. It was to try to help out blacks by helping them get an education. Which would give them upward mobility. To help pull them out of poverty inducing black culture that was against a college education and trying to be white!

Yet affirmative action gave me an English teacher that could not speak proper English and taught both of my girls English! Along with the thousands of other kids here .

When color of skin trumps merit you have a messed up system. If excellence has any value in higher education.

After all of these decades it is time to let minorities stand on their own and stop propping them up. They are equal under our laws and can sue if violated.

Start treating minorities equal and let them sink or swim. Don't treat them like the whites must help them because they cannot make it without the "man"
