150 years ago the Yankees brutally and viciously invaded the beautiful and righteous South. The southern states only wanted freedom as guaranteed in the US constitution. Shame on you (*)(*)(*)(*)ed Yankees!

Secession was their only means to obtain that freedom.
Long live Jeff Davis and the South.

ummm...i hate to be the one to break it to you, but the reason there is a WV is because those counties wanted to stay in the union....just saying.:sun:

not all counties were in favor of staying with the union.
the eastern counties, where I reside and my confederate g,g grandparents are interred, were for secession.

they were forced to stay in the union AT BAYONET POINT

I'm sorry that the North got involved. Should have let the South go. Of course if it had worked out that way we'd now be sharing a rather extensive border with a poverty-ridden third world theocracy but there's a downside to almost everything.

Would that picture have been taken in New Orleans, or when the Confederate Congress finally got over it's racial probelms and let slaves join?

in the end the states would have "made up' and slavery would have died anyway.

    the war was un-necessary.

    >>>Darn if I haven't been saying the same things for decades now. If the South wanted to withdraw from the Union now, I'd be their biggest supporter. The South has cost us 150 years of progress.

So we should of waited until slavery had "died". At what point do you that would of happened?

    >>>You wanted the freedom guaranteed in the Constitution to deny freedom to other people. Where is your thinking, man?

    >>>Slavery might have ended, but the South would have sold us out to the Spaniards and then the Huns. We would have had to go to war with the South sooner or later.

Mary Chesnut stated that slavery was a curse. She was landed southern upper crust.

slavery would have died within a decade.

The war caused decades of bitterness. It was unnecessary.

Go read the Declaration of the Immediate Causes Which Induce and Justify the Secession of South Carolina from the Federal Union.

    Here are the cliff notes.

    My black ass.
