Then never, EVER get inside an automobile again. Ever look up those statistics? There are a host of scenarios out there that are waaaaaaaaaaaay worse odds than the true Corona Virus statistics.

 

Healthy people and even young people die of covid too. Also people need to go out to get food from time to time or get deliveries from places with workers who might have covid. We also have nursing homes that are getting cases too because some of the CNAs catch the coronavirus.

 

I'm not assuming anything. I'm taking the numbers we have and performing simple calculations. You're the one making assumptions because you need to inflate the danger of this virus in order to sustain the doomsday narrative you've subscribed to.

Oh, okay. I don't know anyone who lives in the entire country or the country as a whole so I'm not sure what that speculation is worth.

I do know that people do live in individual states and communities and some have been affected by the virus and some have not and likely will not be affected. This is why I think individual states and communities should respond accordingly.

Trump has not issued a national state at home order and he has explicitly supported the people who are opposing those stay at home orders in states such as my own. Again, I presume he does see the truth that millions of other Americans including myself can so plainly see.

As for Leftists and their political motives they've been praying for a recession for the past 3 1/2 years in the hope of getting rid of Trump and they've given me no reason to expect that they will act otherwise.

 

But the number of deaths we have are only for resolved cases. The vast majority of our cases are unresolved, so the actual number of deaths from our current cases will likely be much higher.

 

Yes, they have trashed the very good Stanford study, and now that study has been validated by the data from the NY antibody test data.

These types of viruses cannot be stopped.

Mass transit has been up and running throughout this "shutdown".

 

South Korea, Taiwan, and China stopped it. South Korea and Taiwan stopped it without a lockdown. They did it with strong early measures and testing.

 

We have to use estimates because we don't have 100% certain numbers yet. If we fail to act because we are waiting for perfect data, then we risk the likely scenario of millions of people dying.

 

Here's the problem. You are addressing this with the advantage of hindsight.

Covid-19 is still basically an unknown. Is it seasonal? How long does the anti-body immunity last? What are the long term effects of catching the disease for people who survive it?

We know the basic impact of the flu and that it's seasonal. It's a known quantity.

Right now, doctors are just finding out that survivors of Covid may have serious long term immunity damage, kidney damage and possible circulatory problems.

So please, stop with the superiority bs.

 

You should stay home because if you go out and kill an old person then its on you. Stay home. Save lives.

It is a global pandemic and the United States leads the world in infections and deaths. Yes, this is an epidemic in every area of the country and I don't give a flying **** whether they need me to care for them. They need to care for themselves by practicing social distancing and incorporating better health practices and not being a failure who believes that this virus is just over-hyped.

 

There's no 'quantifiable' to the lives that we're supposedly 'saving' though. There is however a quantifiable in the finite resources of money, food and production that's been lost.

If you are sick, it could take two weeks for you to display symptoms. As this very thread shows, millions of people got this virus and didn't even know it. If you go out in public around people, you are endangering their lives. I can't give you a number, but I can give you this. Below is an actual case from a Restaurant. No one is NOT taking this seriously. It's the degree of seriousness that's important. As Trump said, it's the "invisible enemy". If the contagion were a factor of 100%, we all would've had it by now. But we don't. And while this shutdown/authoritarianism isn't quite what we're used to, it's not anywhere near the degree of Wuhan.

You not only have to factor in the people who tested for antibodies, also factor in the people who tested NEGATIVE. That's right, as in they don't have it.(Or didn't, at least at the time of the test.)

In the middle of all of this noise, is the freaking truth and we need to find that truth so we can stop doomsday prepping and start REAL preparing.

 

Some scientists have critiqued the methodology of the Stanford study, therefore it must be wrong and a con job.

The NY study did not test people who were stuck at home.

It only tested people who felt healthy enough to go out shopping.

 

It's shocking how easily people accepted the validity of a "social distancing" strategy that was invented like two months ago.
