It won't be some people. It will be millions of people. If the healthcare system collapses, then virtually everyone in critical condition will die. Additionally, people with other illnesses won't get medical care. Healthcare workers will get sick and abandon their posts. Food processing workers will abandon their jobs and we will start running out of food. Nations like South Korea, Taiwan, China, and Germany are great examples of nations that are opening up or have opened up. We need to do what they did.

Whatever number doesn't result in a healthcare system collapse. Things get very bad with a healthcare system collapse.

I see, so it's emergent factual knowledge that fresh air and sunshine save lives, locking them down kills more, so what are you advocating here? Who is the "tyrant" again?

Rhetorical question, and whatever you do don't spew some made up media "science." I've posted the actual scientific evidence many times, won't do so again.

But the virus is. The virus is king. If you go out and mingle with people, you are comitting attempted manslaughter. That is why we stay at home. While we stay at home, the virus is king.

    1. Stay home until you can bribe an official to let you take an antibody test.
    2. Make sure your doctor will give you hydroxychloroquine.
    3. Google NAC Wuhan Coronavirus if you have lung issues - some evidence it may help
    4. Ditto vitamin D
    5 . Ditto vitamin C
    6. If you must go out consider a wet suit and scuba gear. You will make the "news".
    7. Don't take off the scuba mask or give them your name while the cameras are running.

No, we just need to open up period. I praise Georgia's response. That governor will likely be re-elected in a landslide because he showed he cares more for the Republic, then for hysteria.

The Southern Hemisphere has gone through its summer and we didn't see the virus disappear there. Its getting warm in the US, but the number of cases keep rising. Plus, we have fall coming.

If we open up, then millions of people will die and our healthcare and food systems will collapse. We should do what Germany is going and start opening up once we have this virus under control. We should do what South Korea does and have a ton of testing and quick response when the virus hits new areas. South Korea didn't actually lock down because its testing was so good.

The death rate keeps dropping as the antibody data is collected.
The death rate is now at .5 not 1.7.

My 1.7% rate is by comparing the antibody data to the deaths are are currently seeing. The data indicates we have 8.7 million cases and our deaths estimate that 150,000 will die from our current cases, if not more. That is a 1.7% death rate. Do the math.

There are eight States who haven't locked down and have the virus under control. The lockdown theory just isn't working at all. But that ineffectiveness is secondary to the fact that it exists at all, in a federal Republic of the United States.

Equally, those who were "arrested" should have their records expunged as they committed no crime except to live as free citizens in this Federal Republic.

You can't compare N. Dakota to California. The states that aren't locked down are essentially empty. If I was governor of Wyoming, I probably wouldn't lock things down either.

The virus seems to hit randomly sometimes, but tends to hit more international cities and larger cities. Those 8 states didn't have many cases to begin with and didn't need lockdown as much as other places did. New York, did a lockdown and they have seen a reduction in new cases.

It's not even an epidemic in many areas of the country and every American doesn't need you to "care" for them. They're quite capable of deciding what's best for themselves and their communities without your "help".

Which speaks to the wisdom of allowing individual localities and states decide if and how they need to respond to the virus.

There is no "healthcare system" except in your imagination.

In reality, there are hundreds if not thousands of different "systems" operating all across the country.

Some of them - like the cesspool in NYC - were bloated, inefficient, and poorly administrated long before COVID came on the scene.

Others - like those found in and around rural and suburban areas - are in no danger of being overwhelmed by an influx of sick people.

That's why the response to this virus must be decentralized and localized.

The totalitarian approach that you favor is not only extremely unjust and dangerous to our liberties, it is highly impracticable and totally unsustainable.

In any case, there are ways to maintain adequate levels of hospital capacity without shutting down society for months.

No, the virus is not king. The virus is just a virus. And your ludicrous hysteria is far more dangerous than any virus.

Governor Cuomo has already done the math for you. Focus:

    "TRANSCRIPT
Antibody Tests Show High Infection Rate for New York City
About 21 percent of people in New York City who were tested for coronavirus antibodies tested positive, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo said."

"This basically quantifies what we’ve been seeing anecdotally, and what we have known, but it puts numbers to it. It changes the theories of what the death rate is. If you get infected, 13 percent of the population is about 2.7 million people who have been infected. If you look at what we have now as a death total, which is 15,500, that would be about 0.5 percent death rate."
THE NEW YORK TIMES, Cuomo Says 21% of Those Tested in N.Y.C. Had Virus Antibodies: Live Updates, The preliminary data suggests that many more New Yorkers may have been infected than was previously believed., Governor Cuomo, Transcript of briefing, 4/23/20.

We can think of ways of combating COVID-19, without being mini-China or mini-USSR. I'm tired of heiling our unelected lab coat rats who have no place in governmental power.

Your 1.7% rate is made up nonsense, like all the other doomsday scenarios you've been peddling.

    It is not his fault.
Fake Science and Fake News breeds fear and more victims of this mass hysteria.

majority with co-morbidity which comes as no surprise. The same pre-conditions that make the flu more dangerous do the same with covid
