Some barely known freshman legislator who's been in office for all of 3 weeks is a 'brightest star'?
No wonder tRUMP and tRUMPers are losing. oooops, winning.

Airplane eh. And you partied with them instead of reporting them?
BTW - how will the wall stop them? They flew right over it.

And I'm sure that without false analogies you'd have nothing.

Remind me again why false analogy is a legitimate rhetorical device and how it fits into the Equation?

    Not because you say so.

Give us examples where easy driver laws lead to proven illegals voting.

How many of those 33 were actually non-citizens? The article doesn't say. I remember a Republican getting arrested for voting twice in 2016. How many of those 33 were citizens?

A lot of people who break voting laws do so because they don't understand those laws, not because they are knowingly trying to subvert the system. Some who are registered in one state try to vote while living in another state (college students, for example) without realizing they need to register again in their new state. Better voter education is needed, clearly. Local voting precincts need to do a better job of identifying whether voters are eligible or not. This can be done without restrictive voter laws, but if lawmakers decide voter ID is necessary, why can't every citizen be issued a special photo voter ID on their 18th birthday free of charge?

If this common sense approach is utilized then maybe we can get beyond these dishonest attempts by some politicians to game the system for political gain.

Looks like some local Texas affiliate of NBC to me. They're reporting the local news, which would certainly be a big story, worthy of reporting if you're covering your local scene. The thing is, it is thin on actual proof. The state AG is reporting this but we haven't seen his evidence vetted yet. This does have the appearance of fake news but I'll withhold final judgment until this is vetted by fact checkers.

It's not complex to ask for proof. There is no proof currently that non-citizens are voting in numbers that would swing an election. And if they are somehow getting to vote in large numbers in Texas, what does that say about the integrity of the voting systems in place in Texas? And what else are they lax about? I remember a certain fertilizer company exploding in Texas not too long ago as the result of lax safety regulations. What other damaging things are going on there that we don't know about yet?

neither do republicans. It's why you did NOTHING about it for the past 2 years, when you controlled the entire congress, as well as the presidency.

Texas also has areas ran by Democrats. Are you saying that the Demos follow laws and rules?

Why didn't they appropriate the money then. Why did they pass a resolution once BO the Peep was in office to renig on their Vote to build Fences and Barriers? Why didn't they continue to build onto what was already built?

Also why didn't they appropriate money to repair walls or fences?

If you read what I actually said in this and my previous post you'll see I clearly a acknowledged all of this . I never once said that green card holders can vote but that they can obtain citizenship during the period that a DL is valid. And again, not to be pedantic, they could have started the immigration process many years before the start date of a particular DL.

EVEN ONE STOLEN VOTE IS WAY TOO MANY@!

Texas finds 98,000 non-citizen registrations and 58,000 illegal votes. Imagine California...

Every illegally cast ballot by a foreigner cancels out the vote of an American citizen. Why Democrats encourage this is worth looking at a bit more closely

In his statement, Paxton mentioned three recent convictions for voter fraud obtained by his office for three non-citizens in Tarrant, Montgomery and Navarro counties.

In 2018, Paxton’s Election Fraud Unit – with assistance from a criminal justice grant from the governor’s office – prosecuted 33 defendants for a total of 97 election fraud violations. Last February, the attorney general announced a significant voter fraud initiative and addressed key problems and policy areas related to election law.

Sam Taylor, spokesman for the Texas secretary of state's office, said they were "very confident" the citizenship data obtained by the Texas Department of Public Safety was current. But a voting rights group immediately questioned the accuracy of the data and warned that the numbers would likely fuel efforts to tighten voting laws.....snip~

You seem to be missing the point. He has done to the effort of identifying tens of thousands criminals and doesn't arrest at least a few hundred, better still a few thousand then I'm inclined to believe he has as much credibility as the Texas sheriff that claimed he had proof Obama was not US born.
It seems the more outrageous the claim the more the base believes. Remember when Trump repeatedly claimed Clinton wanted to let in 900 million imigrants? That would be the entire populations of every country between Texas and Antarctica and Syria and they'd still need some Canadians to fill up the quota. They'd also have to enter the US at a rate of 500 k per hour 24/7. His base repeatedly cheered this absolutely outlandish claim.
If he can identify 58000 but can't find any to arrest he's either a liar looking for attention or incredibly incompetent or both. I go with the latter.

So how does voter ID work and it had to be republicans that allowed them to obtain driver's license since they run the state.
