Hamas are a very professional militia group. Have you even seen them in action? They're very well trained now having been under Israeli occupation for decades. They have held their own against a nuclear power. In a guerilla war they would defeat the IDF. It's a shame the IDF resorted to tryhard tactics of blowing up bystanders.

Hostage taking is wrong but in the climate, it's akin to pow's. That said, IDF has been taking hostages from west bank for decades, thousands of Arabs detained with no trial.

Hamas entered Israel on Oct. 7th and brutally murdered 1200 Israeli's without provocation. So now the IDF is in Gaza, eliminating Hamas wherever they are found, to prevent a repeat of, or worse than, Oct. 7th. That's reality. Hamas brought the IDF to Gaza by what they did in Israel to Israeli's on Oct. 7th. Had Hamas not done what they did, this wouldn't be happening. The whole while they could have freed the Israeli citizens they kidnapped, and surrendered themselves to the IDF, preventing any more damage. That they have not, then all that transpires is on Hamas. By Hamas inhumanity, they have lost any claim to humanity, and will live and die as the bestial cowards they are.

I don't pay that much attention to Israel. But in this matter, it is clear that it was the victim of a vicious and unprovoked assault by Hamas on Oct. 7th. Now they are in Gaza rooting out the assailants so that it doesn't happen again. That is the plain truth which requires no sophistry.
