After President Reagan won the Cold War and after President Bush (41) and President Gorbachev wrapped up some unfinished business like making promises that the Clinton administration broke, everyone was asking what was NATO's mission now since NATO's mission was to kill commie soldiers ? In particular Russian soldiers.

The vast majority of Americans in the early 1990's thought that after American troops occupying Western Europe for fifty years that we would start bringing our troops home and slowly withdrawing from NATO.
