A lighthearted look at the FLOTUS, Vol. V

Y'all missed the obvious. She is bigger than he is. It's not just the fact that her dress is too small. The ankles, the shoulders... She couldn't fit into his suit. She's been starving him to death or he is still smoking or both.

 

LOL! So true. She is a behemoth.

 

Part of the reason she looks so big next to him is her horrible taste in colors! Everything she wears screams LOOK AT ME, LOOK AT ME!!! Which makes him look like a shrimp. If she was a wearing a navy blue pantsuit with a long jacket, you'd never even notice the difference in their sizes.

Well, maybe not so much today. He does look painfully thin. And just think... his suit is padded. Otherwise, we'd be looking at Barney Fife!

 

I think we ARE looking at Barney Fife. Not just skinny legs, SCRAWNY. 150 lbs tops.

Agree, he's got the body of a little boy. Saw a picture of him playing basketball; Michelle's ankle's are 3 times the size of his.

 

Michelle on the campaign trail. My question is... why would she wear these pants? Wide-legged is supposed to be a description of the garment's style... not what's inside the pants legs.

Good grief.

 

Interesting observations from the adoring Mrs-O. Too bad she didn't include lazy as another reason for Michelle's 'rewearings'. I think she's just too lazy to care.

The Obamas attended a United Nations General Assembly reception at the Waldorf Astoria on Monday evening. For the event, Mrs. O rewore an Alaia frock, previously seen here and here, paired with a low heel for the occasion. Pictured above, the president and first lady pose with UK Foreign Secretary William Hague.

Something to ponder: I've noticed that the first lady is rewearing key pieces from her closet quite a bit lately, perhaps more than usual. Is it a style savvy approach to minimize media focus with the election upcoming? Or an effort to get mileage out of investment pieces? Maybe a little of both?

Another of Michelle's bad decisions. What was she thinking?

 

That's the outfit she wears when she closes her eyes and reaches in the closet and grabs whatever. Those shoes...gag

 

That purse! My grandmother carried a purse like that. For a fashion-diva... Michelle has lousy taste.

 

It does look fairly old fashioned. Geez...she's either wearing little girl "frocks" or wearing frumpy accessories.

 

The purse actually goes with the dress though, unlike the jacket and the shoes and I don't think the dress itself is that bad.

Oh and on the other hand...

...no she does not.

 

Other than being dark blue, that purse goes with nothing except an outfit from the Salvation Army.

Not crazy about the pink & blue mess either. Looks like she snatched the curtains off her little girl's bedroom window. She's got this thing about wearing clothes made out of upholstery fabric. That dress is another example.

Bad fashion is in the eye of the beholder. And like it or not, there are a lot of us 'beholders' out there who think her fashion sense stinks. For every gushy article in Vogue... there are 10 ridiculing her mostly fugly wardrobe. Do the math... she's no Jackie O.

 

I am too but I don't base my fashion assessments on my political affiliations. I don't think Joan does either. She does look a trifle like the geico gecko in that one though.

 

Not sure what 'political affiliations' means. Sounds like if you like her husband (Democrat), then whatever she wears is OK with you?

I don't really think Michelle is stupid when it comes to fashion. She's just lazy. Any woman her age who doesn't wear stockings with dressy dresses is downright lazy. She sends the message, "I'd be more comfy in shorts & a teeshirt."

Nothing wrong with that. After Jan 20, she can dress as sloppy as she wants and nobody will notice.

 

I don't really like Obama, all that aside I think older women should wear stockings with dresses mainly because of veins that show more as you get older. Michele doesn't have that problem, for many reasons. I think she's pretty hit or miss to be honest.

 

Thank goodness she wore something respectable at the debates last night. All Obama needed for the night to be a total disaster was for his wife to embarrass him with her fashion choices. She looked OK. (more later as details come out about her outfit)

 

Skirt's a little high-waisted, but at least there's no boob-belt.

Ugh... bare feet in closed pumps. Thx again for that insight, injest! She shoulda worn stockings.

 

Look who was sitting next to her. Wonder if they held each other's hands when Barack really started stumbling?

There's those bare arms we were talking about.. but this time it's ValJar who thinks it's still summer. Glad she brought a towel to put over her shoulders.

For the first presidential debate this evening, Mrs. O wears a dress and jacket from Preen. The look is from Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi's Fall 2011 collection, seen here, and previously worn by the first lady here and here. The multicolored geometric-floral prints used in this collection were reported to be inpsired by the Northern California Arts and Crafts movement.

The bright color is great and the whole ensemble looks great when she is sitting. When she stands up, the cut, the fit and everything but the color is just hideous. She did sit most of the night so whatever.

 

Totally agree. The waistband of that skirt looks like it's nearly under her arms. Not flattering at all... she should stick to one piece dresses or longer jackets.



LOL, Barack nearly looks like a child standing next to her, doesn't he? Look at his feet. LOL
