Nope Trump attempted to find a legal remedy for what he believed and likely still believes was a fraudulent election. That isn't illegal. The riot on Jan6 was but until you can provide a direct link between Trump and that riot, and sorry no, complaining about election fraud isn't such a link, you can not make the case that Trump did anything illegal

Until I can find a direct link!?!? Where have you been man!?!?! Every single one of those idiots was there that day at the behest of Trump. Prior to that day, he spent 2 months stoking their anger with all of his bullshit stories. Just about every day since the election, he made a conscious decision to knowingly spread lies and inflame anger. Stop pretending like Trump actually believes any of this. He knows it's bullshit, even if some of his supporters don't. And if you truly think he does believe it, and you still want to reelect this man, you're are essentially voting for stupid because you have to be a grade A ******n moron to think the election was actually stolen. Paying lip service to the idea because it would benefit you or your cause is one thing, but actually believing it?

If you can't see the link here, you never will, because you simply don't want to. And that's because you're devoted to a man instead of your country or a principle.

Sorry no one is standing with russia, well except China and India plus the Bric coalition which you should maybe want to spend a little more time studying.
Only about 700 did anything violent. Can someone tell me why no one had ever heard of qanon before Jan. 6?

You may be one of the only ones who had never heard of Qanon before Jan 6th. Don't you remember Trump being asked about them during the debate? You don't remember people posting on here about them?

Trump and Eastman have responded to the allegations made by the Jan. 6 committee. They completely ignored the evidence and used unflattering characterizations of the committee's massive endeavor. Nothing is said about what happened, what Trump said on that day, and the huge amount of material that proves their guilt.
    *********************************************************************************************************************************************************

    The Hill
reports, "Senate Republicans are stepping out of the way of the House Jan. 6 committee’s recommendation that the Justice Department prosecute former President Trump for crimes related to the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

"GOP senators, especially those allied with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), say the Jan. 6 committee interviewed “credible” witnesses and added to the historical record in a substantial way, even though they have qualms about how Democrats have tried to use the panel’s findings to score political points."

Note: Can't find any Republican, Senator or otherwise, who will explain the second half of that sentence. Of course, most Republicans, Senator or otherwise, are staying silent about the former President's coup attempt and are staying away from the colossol amount of evidence proving Trump's guilt.

    The Hill
continued, "Now they say it’s up to Attorney General Merrick Garland or Department of Justice special counsel Jack Smith to investigate or indict Trump, but they’re not waving federal prosecutors off from prosecuting the former president.

“The entire nation knows who is responsible for that day,” McConnell said in a statement, pointing the finger squarely at Trump in response to the House Jan. 6 committee referring four criminal charges against Trump to the Justice Department."

“The people who stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their President,” the Republican Senate minority leader said in February 2021.

Trump is still the leader of the Republican Party because of his support from rural America and is the Republican candidate for President in the 2024 election.

This has been going on for months. Never once has Trump dealt with the evidence, and Trump refused to appear before the committee to explain his innocence.

    Is this conscience of guilt?

Strange how Republicans as a whole are remaining silent about what happened on Jan. 6, 2021, and the developments that led up to that fateful day that caused a sitting President to incite an unsuccessful coup.

CNN reports, "The House select committee investigating the January 6, 2021, insurrection released more than 30 witness interview transcripts Wednesday from key figures who aided former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election, including the likes of conservative attorney John Eastman and one-time national security adviser Michael Flynn.

"While the transcripts largely confirm that most of these individuals invoked their Fifth Amendment protections against self-incrimination during their interviews with the committee, a review of their complete testimony sheds some new light on the panel’s closed-door depositions.

"Several of the witnesses whose transcripts were released in full Wednesday appeared in the committee’s report summary that was produced this week, which noted they largely refused to provide substantive answers to the panel’s questions. But at the same time, the transcripts show how witnesses like Eastman and Flynn – both of whom pushed baseless claims about widespread election fraud – failed to provide the committee with any proof of their assertions (that Trump was the true President).

"Flynn asserted his Fifth Amendment protections against self-incrimination to nearly every question.

"Conservative lawyer Eastman – whose role in efforts to overturn the 2020 election has come under scrutiny -- invoked the Fifth Amendment to every question asked by the panel.

"Roger Stone’s interview with the select committee lasted 51 minutes and he took the Fifth Amendment with every question.

"Former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, whom Trump wanted to install as attorney general, invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 120 times – including when asked if he had worked at the Justice Department on January 6, 2021.

"Investigators seemed particularly focused on who paid for Proud Boys to travel to and stay in Washington. Former Proud Boys Chairman Enrique Tarrio did not provide the committee any information about Proud Boys donors or finances."

Trump and his associates are convicting themselves. Only a person who committed a crime wants to hide that fact (pleading the Fifth).

The forum's Republicans will plead the Fifth by remaining silent on these issues.

How and why would anyone be concerned about Hunter Biden when Julian Assange is behind bars and George W Bush walks free?

Maybe we should talk about the elephant (not the orange one) in the room.

Does anyone happen to know budget on mental health services for our elected crazy people? I'm guessing it needs more funding sooner rather than later.

I am not sure if he really believes this, or if this is a play for attention from the extreme, lunatic right wing. Performance art politics seems to be en-vogue right now in right wing circles, see DeSantis.

    Fair enough.

However, given that is his target audience and we know they aren't inclined to verify information before going off unhinged, is it really fair that Toxic Traitor or anyone using social media to feed this discord agenda to argue they are "not guilty" of incitement?

I see. So anyone who blows the whistle on US government criminality belongs behind bars, while George W Bush, who murdered a million people on the basis of a bald lie, is an innocent lamb?

Somehow, I kinda figured it'd be something like that...

Anyone who blows the whistle on the the government of my country in a way that endangers citizens, law enforcement, and military personal of my country belongs behind bars, absolutely, without question.

And George Bush did not murder a million people. You could make a case that his fiasco in Iraq was wrong, and I'd agree, but you simply cannot blame those killed by evil Islamic fundamentalists on him. And without that, you're nowhere near a million people.

I hate all of them and will never forgive them defending a monstrous traitor against our government.

But, I understand that they are not entirely at fault. He's been a criminal and con man his whole life. They were just easy targets he could manipulate and exploit.

He's a career criminal, bully and mafia boss. They see him as "strong" but he's a big wimp, stupid beyond measure, self-entitled and an assh*le.

Literally, ONE day after he was elected, hate crimes went up.

    https://politicstoday.org/hate-crimes-increase-in-the-us-since-trumps-election/

Since 2016, crimes against lawyers, judges and special agents have increased considerably as well.

My read on that is he was constantly using his goons to strongarm any path of resistance for his many crimes and ethical violations while lying to his groupies that he was being unfairly persecuted.

In October 2022, he said that journalists that don't reveal their SCOTUS leaks should be raped in prison. His crowd cheered. That is beyond sick and disgusting but gives a clear snapshot of how disconnected and evil he really is.

    The GOOD NEWS is...

No, they most certainly do not. By your brain-dead "logic," anyone who reveals any sort of US government criminality belongs behind bars because the citizens, law enforcement and military personnel who are engaging in the criminality could thus be in danger of ending up behind bars themselves. It's just absurd, evil, anti-liberty, anti-justice, and anti-truth filth.
He most certainly did. He is an evil, mega-murdering war criminal.
I most certainly can. He destroyed the social and institutional infrastructure that kept the fundies in check, and gave them the best possible excuse for their violence: the apocalyptic violence visited upon Iraq by the USA under Bush's orders.
    Garbage.

He has no brake on his tongue and says disgusting stuff for effect. If he had to suffer consequences of what he said, I bet he’d become more circumspect in his speech.

Which makes him unfit to hold a position that requires discretion and diplomacy.

His KKK rallies are carnival acts and he already wears make-up. Maybe his next gig can be in a circus.
