A President's cognitive decline

Strange post. So we agree that Trump passed a cognitive test a year ago. Good.

 

I’ve learned all kinds of things from you. About bee parasites present/not present in Australia. About the importance of remembering humans are more than the sum of their physical parts. About forest lifecycles and how stage of lifecycle affects ability to withstand fire. About the importance of correct usage of terms when discussing formal science. About Ukraine. All kinds of stuff.

A great deal of the knowledge I’ve gained post formal education is a direct result of actual information shared with me by those like yourself or from other sources discovered during/after long form conversations on a subject.

For example, I was unaware there were human clinical trials underway involving inhalation of ethanol vapor to treat/prevent respiratory disease. If you and I hadn’t discussed the subject at length it’s unlikely I’d have cared to look into it. Yes, your comments on murine trials prompted me to dig deeper. Now I’m excited that sometime in the future I may be able to treat viral pneumonia in my animals with something similar. If you recall I’d previously lamented the fact there are no common effective treatments for me to use on viral respiratory disease. Not only did our discussion lead me to learn about the current research on this treatment from a trivial perspective, but it’s likely sometime in the future I will benefit economically and from an animal welfare perspective as well. You can bet I will be discussing this with the more progressive veterinarians I deal with.

Great. They aren’t MY definitions. That’s the point. I have no use for your unsubstantiated opinions that conflict with evidence, data, and accepted definitions. If you ever want to discuss evidence, facts or how things and concepts are defined, I’m around. But I’ve completely lost interest in conversing with someone who posts voluminously about the left and then claims no such entity exists. That’s just too unconnected from reality to interest me further.

Maybe you can clear it by showing us these "reported that he had cognitive testing December 2023 and January 2024." Let's see what you got. He keeps repeating how he took the test 6 years ago at his rallies... he never said he took one in 2023 or 2024... Why would he????

This isn’t the first time Trump has bragged about his performance on a cognitive test. Back in 2020, while still in office, the former president boasted twice about how well he said he did on a test of his cognitive abilities in two separate interviews within a week of each other.

 

Why not? As long as the results are visible to all and not like his “medical report”

 

Why get checked out? If he's good to go, he can end speculation.

IT APPEARS WE HAVE AN UPDATE/CORRECTION.

Despite Trump's multiple boastings over many years including as recently as 2024 there is no official record of him undertaking a cognitive test since 2018 (and that official record appears to be uncorroborated).

This means by the end of his presidency Trump will be 82 and it will be at least 11 years since his last cognitive testing.

 

Would you believe I don't mind either way. I still enjoy debating with members here that have decided at some stage of their lives that they know everything and there's nothing more for them to learn.

However, I will admit there is an extra layer of satisfaction with being able to get on with or even foster friendships with debate partners, including through a process of mutual education.
