Not according to their founding Charter or Abbas' plans. Im sure they are full of verbal promises about the future.
Well i guess there will never be peace because, according to the Likud charter, Israel includes all of Judea and Samaria.
Marlowe I have five years of post graduate training in life sciences. My biochemistry and molecular biology was so good from the Bachelors training, I was given a pass on the graduate course by examination. Few achieved this. Years ago, Science magazine - that is Science, not Science Digest, Scientific American, etc. but the hardcore, Science magazine had an article on the "Jewish genome". If one has four Jewish grandparents, the standard used, statistically all Jewish persons are third cousins and more like fourth cousins with the more isolated Persian population. However, there was still more similarity then with a host population. That's because they never believed in outbreeding though thousands of years. The Middle Eastern population with the most similarities was the Palestinian population. And the European population with the most Jewish genome in their regular, gentile genome was Italy. Goes back to Roman times. I have been a big fan of this technology and had my genome done at 23andMe as well at FTDNA. 23andMe is a great deal. Complete package, one time payment. All other service chisel. To verify what I have mentioned above, just search. It is readily available online. Does that do anything to satisfy a requirement that I am knowledgeable on genetics? You can add some basic research transferring genetic material with phage viruses if you like. It is not only the genomic similarity of Palestinians and Jordanians I mention but, also the cultural similarities. More similar then Egyptians or Syrians, etc. 2 points no one responded to. 1) Are we going to witness a Palestinian Navy, Air Force and Army? 2) Palestinians may own property in the Jewish nation, what about Jewish persons owning land in the Palestinian nation. Thank you Moi 3.1% Neanderthal per 23andMe
once Palestine finally exists as a state and borders are set, we can start talking about people who have no allegiance to Palestine owning land in that state. but now? its a war for land.
What's legitimately on the table is a swap of land for recognition and peace. In other words, Israel makes a large tangible concession in return for the virtual concession of hearing certain words. It's both daring and generous of Israel to even consider such a deal. Now you insist that instead of a fair exchange Israel should make that large tangible concession in return for nothing. Palestine will think about its virtual concessions later. Such an asymetrical deal might make sense if there were a great imbalance of power favoring the Arabs. But that's not the case. It's this sort of overreaching demand that has prevented peace for decades. I'll repeat what I said in post 75: that conflict has become a way of life, and the managers of that conflict may be unwilling to leave it behind.
The Palestinians now do have power. http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2013/aug/01/israel-palestine-peace-talks-hopeful Practically it is questionable whether a genuine two state solution can still be implemented but this is Israel's last chance to do that. Palestine now has mainstream people onside. Failure to produce a two state solution will result in increasing sanctions and boycotts and eventually a one state solution with all people citizens and all people with equal rights. It could be said these talks are the last hope for Israel as the state she now is.
another troll post. People who believe in human rights want to stop the ever day occurrence of things like this and this http://jfjfp.com/?p=46608 Your trolling will not stop the reality that this is Israel's last chance at a two state solution. Trolling wrecks threads. Do not expect further answers to such posts.
===== --- Thank you, Moi - (wink) I'm a nuts/bolts/hammers+ spanners bog from a Technical college. I've also been around long enough to mistrust so-called " scientific studies and reports" funded + carried out by certain groups with the intention to support their political programs and prove land/property ownerships -. Your questions : IMO 1) Every truly independent legitimately sovereign state has right /duty to defend its borders. I doubt whether an independent Palestinian state would in the distant future have the Naval/Military capacity to match Israel . 2 ). Before the creation of Zionist-Israel . All native inhabitants - irrespective of religion , whether Jew/Christian/Muslim were classified as Palestinians (Falasteeni ). For many centuries the Jews living there were known as Palestinian-Jews , just as there was German-Jews /French/English or American-Jews I read that Arik Sharon -(Scheinerman's ) birth certificate (along with all jews born in Palestine ), describe him as "Palestinian-Jew" , (only my opinion) there might possibly come a time when Jews will again be able to legitimately owned property in an Independent Palestine - AFTER The Zionists have addressed the legitimate claims of of Palestinian refugees. Similar to Germany's compensation to its WW2 Jewish refugees, HUH ? btw - Jews continue to live/own business in Iran/Turkey/Morocco, If there're to be a final settlement I'm confident all Arab League members , including the Oil rich states , shall also consider similarly addressing the claims from Mizrahim - Jews who fled /encouraged to leave , from other Arab countries .. AFAI can tell - Palestinians demands justice , nothing more. .... .
Interesting maps - + very true. however IMO - there should be a big difference how nations behave in 19th and 20th Century , by which time such injustices was no longer acceptable . After WW1 the international community sought remedies , International conventions _ treaties, first with the League of Nations then Geneva conventions - tried to establish standards of international law for the humanitarian treatment of war the UN Charter .etc. The Zionists Jews as signatory to Geneva+ UN Charter are in breach of international law . And if not for USA vetoeing UNSC Resolutions - Israel would long ago have changed its policies towards Palestinians and would have learnt to respect International conventions/Laws - and would by now have made peace with its neighbours instead of continuing in their greed for more land - "Lebensraum". .....
funny that you reference the Nazis, as you said the Nazis killed the wrong 6 million Jews and should have instead killed the Zionist Jews.
You speak for the Red, White, and Yellow. You Dhimmis can have them! Your America won't last very much longer.
John Kerry, that towelboy for *********s, wants the Israelis to trade guns for peace. Sounds like something Eric Holdup advised him on!
Really ? So please go to the dictionary and read what is the origins of the word assassin. It comes hundreds of years ago from a group of Arabs who were famous of their murders and their cruelty. So much good at terror they gained the dubious honor that the word assassin is named after them. If you want to go further, you may learn the the first war American ever fought was against Arabs who had been attacking and terrorizing American ships going to the Mediterranean sea. The created such damage on the US, it went to war 10,000 miles from its shores as a young nation, just to get by them.
I have to admit, I had read that Jews in Palestine were where modern terrorism came from as well, though probably just someone's point of view. I am sure you are right about the history of the word assassin, but I am sorry to say that having done a search, Jews do it appears hold the prize for terrorism, if earlier than Marlowe said. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrorism#History
let me guess: you believe a suicide bomb attack against on duty soldiers is an act of terrorism if the soldiers are Israeli.
