Abolish the age of consent

Nothing has derailed my arguments thus far, despite your claims otherwise.

It's consent. Whether it's informed or not depends on how much the child in question knows about sex.

Technically any age from second or third trimester to mid-twenties.

Also, for all of you people who think it's easy to trick kids into doing something stupid... as it turns out, even a sixteen-month-old infant can tell when an adult is full of crap.

 

According to your article they can only tell that adults are "full of crap" after they've been demonstrated to be "unreliable" in the past. They have no innate ability to detect even obvious falsehoods. It's like conditioning an animal.

 

Nope. 39% of infants realized that using their foreheads rather than hands to push a light was stupid even after seeing a "reliable" adult do it.

 

This is the same "slippery slope" fallacy that was used about half a century ago to argue against interracial marriage.

This is a libertarian stance buddy. It has nothing to do with gays.

 

I doubt that the OP meant that children should be allowed to have sex. But I would like to point out that you are mistaken partly. A girl reaches sexually maturity when they have their first period. They are physically ready for sex. It's the mental and emotional maturity that is not ready. That is why in many eastern cultures, the marital age is lower, because they are prepared for sex and marriage at a younger age. Western girls, especially Americans, are not truly ready for a long term sexual relationship until they are well into their 20's in many cases.

 

Paedophilia is not gender-led. It's the unnatural attraction to pre-pubescent children of both genders. There are also paedophilic women.
