Not all power companies accept contributions. People should inquire first before buying a system.

This is my wife's "around town" car. We have a KIA Sorrento for trips. I doubt a plug-in qualifies because Newsom is trying to force EV's. They are slowly but surely strangling the natural gas market.
Regarding electric power, I plan to charge at night on 120v. It's like 30-40 electric miles, YMMV.
ALSO: I have rooftop solar where they own it (kinda like leasing my roof). We had a big storm where water leaked in and did some damage to the panels.
If I owned them, it would be on me, but since I did not they replaced them all at no charge. And one less panel since they are more efficient.
    Something worth considering.

Biden will ship manufacturing companies overseas. The is what globalist are doing. Looking for third world wages. This is why unions are killing jobs in the U.S.

I'm not sure about California State credits, but you may want to look at the Federal credit. The 13.8 KWH definitely meets the criteria. You might check with a dealer and see about the rest (made in America criteria, etc). $7500 is nothing to sneeze about.

    https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/credits-for-new-clean-vehicles-purchased-in-2023-or-after

For vehicles placed in service April 18, 2023 and after:
Vehicles will have to meet all of the same criteria listed above, plus meet new critical mineral and battery component requirements for a credit up to:

    • $3,750 if the vehicle meets the critical minerals requirement only
    • $3,750 if the vehicle meets the battery components requirement only
    • $7,500 if the vehicle meets both
A vehicle that doesn't meet either requirement will not be eligible for a credit.

    Qualified vehicles
    To qualify, a vehicle must:

    • Have a battery capacity of at least 7 kilowatt hours
    • Have a gross vehicle weight rating of less than 14,000 pounds
    • Be made by a qualified manufacturer.
      • FCVs do not need to be made by a qualified manufacturer to be eligible. See Rev. Proc. 2022-42 for more detailed guidance.
    • Undergo final assembly in North America
    • Meet critical mineral and battery component requirements (as of April 18, 2023).
    The sale qualifies only if:

In addition, the vehicle's manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) can't exceed:

    • $80,000 for vans, sport utility vehicles and pickup trucks
    • $55,000 for other vehicles
    Good luck with your decision.

People are fools. Now we have China trying to infiltrate our water supplies and now they want Americans to buy their cars, which will be pre-programmed to be hackable anytime they want. But Biden will be mandating we buy EV's and China will have the cheapest ones.

You've got it backwards. After Biden's "Not on my Watch" message, BYD, China's largest car manufacturer publicly stated:

2-27-2024, According to BYD executive vice president and CEO of BYD Americas, Stella Li, the Chinese automaker has no plans to sell passenger EVs in the US. The leader called the market “interesting” but too complicated due to conflicting politics.

https://electrek.co/2024/02/27/byd-...aunch,“We’re not planning to come to the US.”

Trump was the one who directed the Department of Commerce to help out a Chinese Company, so that he could profit personally.

    https://www.businessinsider.com/tru...ons-to-trump-organization-tied-project-2018-5

5-15-2018 Within three days of the Chinese government agreeing to provide $500 million in loans to an Indonesian theme park that the Trump Organization has a deal to license President Donald Trump's name to, the president stunningly ordered sanctions be rescinded against a major Chinese telecom company.
    ...
"President Xi of China, and I, are working together to give massive Chinese phone company, ZTE, a way to get back into business, fast," Trump tweeted Sunday. "Too many jobs in China lost. Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!"

Sounds like an impeachable offense to me, before his other impeachments.
