After mocking Trump for promoting hydroxychloroquine, journalists acknowledge it might treat coronav

Do we know that HCQ is effective against Covid 19? A lot of studies done so far have been equivocal. Ivermectin is an off patent drug as are many of the other antivirals as they are used for treatment of HIV

 

I don't see anything about Ivermectin that suggests it is used for HIV. And that any drug is used for HIV treatment wouldn't make it off patent, as in cause and effect.

So, why isn't ivermectin being used? Any anecdotal evidence of it being successful?

Ok.. So what? Ivermectin has only come up in the last 9 days but this thread has been going on for 11 days and Trump's mention of hydroxychloroquine, along with other potential therapies, was nearly a month ago. We're all glad to hear there are even more options to consider. At this point, there's so much hope in hydroxychloroquine that I imagine doctors are going with what they know... but maybe not... Don't ask me; don't ask us here.. If you want to know why doctors are or are not using any therapy, ask them... Just don't blame Trump for what the doctors do or don't do.

 

I think the real point here is that hydroxychloroquine might actually work and Trump mentioning this drug, and promoting it as a possible treatment for covid-19 might just save thousands of lives in the USA. Maybe tens of thousands of lives, if his words Influence people in other parts of the world. And that's what the Trump haters fear, that Donald Trump single-handedly, by mentioning hydroxychloroquine might lead to saving tens of thousands of lives, and the Trump-haters just cannot stomach the possibility of that.

it's it's really simple, if we contract the virus covid 19 we may ask our doctor if they think hydroxychloroquine may offer a possible treatment for us. It's up to our doctor to either prescribe it or just prescribe some other drug, or do nothing at all. All Trump has done is to inform people of a possible treatment for this virus, that's it.
