exactly. He did not recede into the background after he lost last time. He probably won't again if he loses. If he wins , he will do more damage to the system and democracy. AND might try to continue to stay in power . By that time he might create a crisis in order to justify continuing in office.

I presented it as one of several possibilities.
    I assigned no probabilities

Perhaps you should stick to the truth.

If he loses again he might revisit his 'fraud' playbook. How much losing can a narcissist take though?

He has already implied that if he loses, the election was raged again.

In his mind he does not lose. It is always someone else fault or the system or.....whatever his imagination creates. He seems to live in total denial. He CANNOT admit losing. IOW He canot accept reality and that is a problem.....making him psychologically very vulnerable . ( and unstable)

This is, apparently, a very uncomfortable comfort for some here.

This isn't about criticizing Trump, it is about acknowledging that this is Trump's last rodeo.

    He
Can't run in 2028 term limited
Can't run in 2028 because his mental failings will prevent it
Can't run in 2028 because he will be in prison or
Can't run in 2028 because Congress will have acted on the 14th.

I really would like Republicans to tell me where the party is going next.

Worst case scenario of a Trump win is still 4 years of Trump obstructing globalism.

    Not responsive.

The question is what happens after Trump, not how would Trump bungle his way through another disastrous presidency.

I don't find a lot of value in trying to predict the future, I've never been good at it. But I'm hopeful Tulsi Gabbard comes back on the scene of national politics. VP 2024 and P 2028 if I get any say in it.

So you have no idea who will be the GOP/DEM nominees?

I sense a fear of saying what you think.
Fear of being excluded from the MAGA club for speaking your actual mind.

Well, he can endlessly grift off of MAGA/WWE voters, why would he stop? The evangelical community is ripe for the Pickens..

I'm not in the MAGA club. I'm in the 'we could've had RFK if the Dem party didn't worship the pharmaceutical corporations' club. Also the 'Trump is still better than Biden' club.

RFK is 10x the statesman Trump is, and prolly 10x as knowledgable too. x100 vs emptyBiden tho.

I think there's too many variables to bother trying to predict what will happen. But if you insist-

My prediction is the MIC will continue to escalate conflict with Russia in attempt to create an 'emergency' worthy of delaying or canceling the election, Biden will suffer any number of ailments common to his age and go to 'the hospital' for an indefinite period of time, Harris absolutely will not be running anything, and we'll be too busy bickering over who COG falls too next to bother worrying about what our runaway entrenched bureaucracy is actually doing behind the scenes, because the corporate media sure as hell aint gonna tell us.

    Won't that be fun.

Maybe they can tell us where that party is gong NOW....as it appears to be rudderless. Trump might be their "figurehead" , but not a true leader.

This is not about the party as it may exist, but about what happens when Trump is gone.

It will depend on how much "change" he creates within the party. That change seems to have been going on since he took office. . I suspect that his influence on the party will be significant...........and not in a positive way The details will unfold with time.

After Trump?? That might be optimistic. He did not go anywhere after he lost...and he will likely remain and "influencer" no matter if he wins or loses. He will make sure he remains in the spotlight.....one way or another. Even if he ended up jail....he would continue to keep himself in the news. The party?? Is in disarray....and will remain so. He has no ethical or moral handbrake.

It's too early to start thinking about that. Start thinking about it in November of 2028 because he's going to be your next president

    He will try but...

After losing the presidency twice (actually 3 times)...
costing the GOP house and senate seats in every election he's run...
Seeing his favorite candidates squished again and again...
    and
With him in prison or an elder care facility...

    The GOP may change direction.

    OR
    It may not.
It is very likely the GOP will begin searching for another Trump

    After all...
He fills their daily need for anger
    That anger is addictive
And most of the GOP is addicted

    Doubts?

I expect that he'll be milking his flock with his grievance agenda until he's dead or senility really kicks in.
The repubs are happy to promote his brand of demagoguery and will continue to pander to his maga flock who will continue to parrot trump's diarrhea of lies and grievances even if he's in jail, and especially after he loses any election or trial.
We will only begin to get past trump when he's dead, and even then, it will be a bumpy ride. The truth is that trump has seriously damaged our country and it will probably get worse before it gets better.

    Probably.

But who will continue Trump's demagoguery as leader of the GOP?

Reagan's obvious successor was GHW Bush
    GHW Bush' was Dole
None in 2000 gave us Bush
    Bush' was McCain
    None gave Romney
    None gave Trump.

I see no obvious successor to Trump.
I see mini-Trumps in Wheels Abbot and Florida Rhonda

The question is who can get the unabashed loyalty of MAGA?

That is very close to how I see it too. For one thing....no matter what happens, there is no going back to the previous normal. Unless his tribe has a genuine awakening , his influence will continue. He will probably die a martyr in their eyes. A psychopath can create that much damage and alter r the systems once they have grabbed power for even a little while. One hates to think what he will do when he loses again. One also hates to think what his tribe will do should that happen....once he sends out an invitation for violence. One can only hope that the NON Trumpers remain civil as the potential turbulence happens. The fact that his group don't even see him as dangerous.......is concerning. What is even more concerning is that they support/ condone, rationalize and accpet his language and conduct. (and some are ready to act out their rage .the rage that has been fueled by him)
