Hopefully NO ONE will continue Trump's demagoguery as it has no place in a TRUE DEMOCRACY.

The US is not a true democracy. Interestingly, with current tech, a true democracy at any scale would not be that hard to implement. Even a true democracy however is very much an imperfect system. Athens sentenced Socrates to death by a democratic vote - 'member that one?

Yes. True Democracy is imperfect. But one would think we have evolved a lot since that era in Athens. What happened in that situation, is a blatant abuse of Democracy.

Most folks have, but many have not. Possibly the 2020 US Presidential election results are a great proxy.

Also, the thing that makes a democracy work, I think, is that folks consider their opinions from an opposing viewpoint, that whole do unto others stuff. Lots of folks don't.

Why do you say that. Best LEGAL case for tRaitor is four years as a lame duck.

Or do you believe there is a viable alternative?

Stefanik, Ramaswami, Nikki Haley, Nancy Mace in that order, and others with lower profiles.
You guys will get Newsom. The democrats have a weak bench.
The Baby Boomer presidents are done. The new generation in taking over.

We have the “TECH”, we don’t have a population that will work that hard at becoming informed on difficult issues.

It's worse than that. The polarization and rightous indignation is locking otherwise sane folks into very dangerous mindsets. Moreso on the right imo, but folks on the right have a reasonable excuse to see it the other way around, but at the expense of missing a knarly power grab spelling a transition to a far more repressive system in the US with less common good to show for it, again, of course, imo.

I continue to be blown away by hearing the words that the biggest problem in government is compromise come out of the mouth of a colleague at work that I've developed a bit of respect for. A good bit of it has slipped away now. This guy compromises consistently about why his stuff doesn't work, doesn't get done. And I'm convinced he supports DFT now, although he's heard my opinion on the man and not offered any attempt at making a counterpoint. Well, it's corporate so there is a limit to the discussion with him at work.
