Welcome to dystopia. Alabama isn’t satisfied with enforcing their retreaded anti abortion laws in their state alone. How long before they start prosecuting out of state residents for getting abortions in their own states?

This is exactly what republicans want because to them women are chattel. They don’t have rights. They exist to have sex (with or without consent), have babies (also with or without their consent), cook and clean.

Three cheers for smaller government!! And an extra cheer thrown in for 'letting the states decide'.

It apparently is in Alabama. And last I knew a "conspiracy to commit a crime" can be charged without a crime having to have actually occurred. That is standard across the entire US.

This is why I personally think its dumb to have at the state level
How much plutonium was needed in the flux capacitor for this time travel journey to find names that hardly anyone knows saying stupid things? I hope you didn't run out of fuel because I personally think time travel is AWESOME

You left out one of my favorites...

It goes against the general MAGA stance of ignoring rape, but it's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard from a politician

    SNIP
So goal no. 1 in the state of Texas is to eliminate rape so that no woman, no person, will be a victim of rape,”
    ENDSNIP

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...iminate-rape-defends-abortion-law/5770204001/

On topic, this pinhead in Alabama is wrong... much like the original pinhead attempt to do this in Idaho..

But they weren’t getting it in Alabama. So it’s not a crime.

Out of curiosity, do you think this is okay? If so, does that apply to other laws that very state-to-state? Should everyone who returns home from a trip to Vegas be arrested for gambling?

Edit: to make it more accurate to the topic, should the people who facilitate travel to Vegas be prosecuted for conspiracy to facilitate gambling?

As quoted, such a law is unconstitutional and will be repealed 9-0 by SCOTUS. The commerce clause is settled law.

And that's the issue. In this dystopian hellscape of a post Roe America states are allowed to make abortion illegal within their borders.

The Alabama AG is trying to make Alabama law enforceable beyond their own borders.

“The conspiracy is what is being punished, even if the final conduct never occurs,” Marshall’s filing states. “That conduct is Alabama-based and is within Alabama’s power to prohibit.”

I remember when roe was called settled law

Alabama does not have the ability to enforce state laws in other states(this is the same issue that brought about the continental dollar situation.). The separate state laws are recognized as separate, as each state government is legitimate and the attempt to encrouch on other States violates that State's independence.

If Alabama prevails, the union will have a slavery-esque fissure. It must and will be shut down 9-0. Law and history slams the door shut on Alabama's argument.

This is a step too far. I image that the Alabama DA is looking to rise higher in politics.

The Alabama AG's argument is on par with the fugitive slave act and the theory on that basis. It was rejected then, and it's rejected now in 2023. He's gonna be absolutely crushed in court.

The fugitive slave act was in force until he civil war. Took an act of Congress to over turn it.
