You realize the GOP won the independent voter in 2022 right? They just didn’t win it as strong as they should but they still won it. And that was before inflation really started slapping.

 

I beg to differ, but the average independent voter can't stand Trump, and most think his behavior post 2020 election was abhorrent.
The only people who like Trump now are the die hard Republicans, and most of them only would vote for Trump because of their learned hatred of Democrats.
Most people, even of those who voted for Trump, see him as a joke and don't like him. Any veteran should have a strong dislike for Trump. Instead of bridging gaps after the 2020 election, he chose behaviors that alienated him from most Americans.
