I'm trying to decide whether you are just naïve or purposefully being obtuse. The point was that there were plenty of practices that were once considered barbaric, such as autopsies, as well as other medical procedures, that are no longer so. And later, we will see them as such again as we advance within our medical knowledge.

Well by that wording all amputations are assault. You might consider rewording that. But in that vein, then we can claim that boxing is assault and is illegal, and yet there is no law making boxing illegal. Interesting. The medical procedure has been done, repeatedly and there are no cases out there filed by any DA. And it's worked. You not wanting to accept the evidence presented is your problem. You can't even show where the procedure itself is illegal. You are just making an assumption that some random DA would consider it assault, even though amputations in and of themselves are not, but you have no evidence that they actually would see it that way.

It's from the National Institute of Health. I don't know what more you could want other then a bias site that is catering to your perception. Reality is, the procedure has been done repeatedly, it has helped in a majority of the cases it was used on, and there is not a single law out there that addresses the procedure as illegal. You can claim it to be assault, but that doesn't make it so. That is just your view and since you are not a lawyer or a DA, that view holds no legal weight. Show me where this procedure has been challenged as being an assault, and you might actually have something.
