Yeah, it is. a blessing and curse of our internet age is that we hear about lots of such horrific events that we would never have known 30 years ago

See, when you try it is possible to post something that is not Trump related. I agree with your instincts on this, her crime deserved a 10 year sentence and justice was definitely served in this case.

Additionally the apartment complex has a severe liability issue in this case, the door malfunction should be worth millions to the victims family. If not for the door malfunction, he would never have been killed. The fact that the door opened for the shooter led her to the mistaken belief that she was in her own apartment.

Blame it on the door. Would it have been OK if the man in his apartment had been white?

Um... I agreed with the 10 year sentence. Do you have a problem with reading comprehension?

Of course I would blame the door. The shooter has been held responsible and will serve a decade in prison. I am extending the responsibility to the apartment owner..... to the tune of millions of dollars. If you believe the apartment owner's negligence is NOT responsible for this man's death, then I have to ask you why. You seem very eager to deny justice to this man's family and I don't understand why.

It's not about forgiveness, it's about Justice being served.

The guy's brother is extraordinary but then I bet Botham was also a wonderful guy. It's too bad he's not still alive and his family will suffer for the rest of their lives missing him.

Yes I'm sure he was if hes like his brother. Holding grudges don't reverse time it just leaves a person angry. That's coming from a person whos done it

So it's more personal to you than the victims brother?

If you want to go down that route why wouldn't you bring up systematic sexism in the courts? That's the biggest determining factor on sentencing

Yea I would amend that to if ANYBODY killed one of my kids (even through innocent accident) I would want that person dead. That is the reason we have a justice system.... to prevent us from being vigilantes. I think justice was served in this instance.

Frankly it was shocking that the brother forgave the shooter, that is something I would not do. I wonder if it had anything to do with his Christianity.

I dont see it so much as, "being a vigilante" as I do a person, (Law enforcement officer) who took an oath to Protect & Serve. Cops can't just kill people because they were tired and couldn't find the right apartment.

Like a boxer who accidentally kills someone he fought, but his skill are considered lethal weapons.

    This is not an oopsie!
This beautiful man is dead because of the unprofessional behavior of this officer.

As of this minute she is still in the Dallas County jail. She should be bunking in the big house very soon.

Here is a good article from the Texas Tribune on Amber =

Amber Guyger trial highlighted why Dallas communities of color often distrust law enforcement
    https://www.texastribune.org/2019/1...rison-sentence-expose-distrust-dallas-police/

She got double what the cop who killed the 12 year-old boy got in 1973. She makes the third conviction of a Dallas area cop in recent years.

There are 8,256 people in Texas prisons for murder. One hundred twenty five (125) are doing 5-10 years. Four thousand six hundred fourteen (4,614) are doing more than 40 years. https://www.texastribune.org/library/data/texas-prisons/crimes/murder/571/

Here is a good article from the Texas Tribune about that incident. Some people are pissed off about it, especially about the judge hugging Amber.

Amber Guyger was hugged by her victim’s brother and a judge, igniting a debate about forgiveness and race
Some were confused, troubled and outraged after Amber Guyger received embraces from both the victim's brother and the judge.

People have no right to be angry at how the victims brother chooses to process his grief the judge yeah you can be critical of her response if you choose.

This whole making the light sentence being light being about systematic racism is bunk. If you wanna make a case the obvious case is systematic sexism in the judicial system. What did the judge and Amber guyger have in common? It wasn't their skin tone......

    Heres statistics

    dagan-women-prisoners-11.png

"A 2015 study from the University of Michigan Law School found that when such decisions are taken into account, sentences for men are on average 63 percent longer than sentences for women"

IMO, this is a very good opinion piece about the BS antics surrounding the trial =

The false hope of Amber Guyger being found guilty
The 10-year prison sentence handed to the ex-Dallas cop for the shooting death of Botham Jean isn’t a step in the right direction for this country.

It’s Judge Kemp’s actions that hit below the belt, though. After sentencing, Kemp — who has been publicly endorsed by the Dallas police force in the past — was filmed coming down from her stand to gift Guyger her personal bible, consoled her, and said, “You did something bad in one moment in time. What you do now matters.” Many with experience in courtrooms during similar trails expressed throughout the night on Twitter that they’d never seen anything remotely close to what Kemp did. Because no one should ever do what Judge Kemp did.

Since liberal race hustlers chose to make it a racial issue black people were sure to be disappointed

That is a poor quality joke that shows a complete lack of empathy for the innocent victim of a sex-starved thug cop who murdered him in cold blood.
