    I think you are correct on that...
    It's unclear to me whether the involvement of the two Murdoch boys has anything to do with it, but Fox News has joined the mainstream on making non-issues, like Trumps hands, completely take over the airways. It's irrelevant that they take an opposing position from the mainstream; there should be no position. It needn't be discussed or even mentioned. Megan Smelly is so passive aggressive you'd think she is a closet-prog.

    So back to my OP - people are tuning out of mainstream for something entertaining and non-political. Even CBS Sunday Morning can't resist politicizing -- when their whole audience is there to escape the news cycle.

    I never understood Hannity's appeal. I hate both Rush and O'Reilly but I can understand appeal. That said if you take the long view the whole premise of this thread is off.

    CNN is up 40+ percent from August of 2015. MSNBC is up 70+ percent from August of 2015. Fox News is down almost 30 percent from August of last year.

    Way to cite data from ONE WEEK IN AUGUST to make a sweeping claim about CNN -- and then to tie it to Trump supporters without any evidence whatsoever.

    Ad Week tracks TV news ratings on a day-to-day basis. CNN appears to be doing fine compared to its competitors -- sometimes leading, sometimes not.

    People now have a far broader choice than cable, it's called the internet.
    I got rid of cable because of 1. the cost, $100 a month for basic!! and 2. the constant commercials which I was paying $100 a month to watch!!
    Enter ROKU, Netflix and Youtube.
    To begin with I was getting some commercials but a quick play with my router settings and I get all the movies, news and entertainment I want commercial free for a cost of $0.

    There is not actually anything misogynistic about "Man up." Claiming there is just demonstrates your lack of understanding of what misogyny is.

    You could try to argue there's something mildly sexist about it, in which case I shrug at you. I don't get worked up about mild examples of anything. It's like saying "you don't have the balls" instead of "you don't have the guts." (or as my wife likes to say, "You don't have the ovaries.") Nobody really cares.
