Other than the reality that glaciers are in full retreat all over the world; that spawning grounds for multiple ocean-dwelling critters have moved northward due to warmer waters and disturbed those who used to live there; that coral reefs are dying due to warmer waters; less ice in the Arctic and some seriously threatened glaciers and chunks of ice in the Antarctic; stuff like that. Something(s).

It is global, remember? Global sea ice is above the 79 to 2008 mean. Some glaciers have been retreating for longer than man is alleged to cause it and some glaciers are increasing. Some retreating glaciers have uncovered ancient forests that grew during this Holocene showing they have retreated before.

Climate change is the latest manifestation of global leftists to come up with an endless source of taxation. There is no place on the planet that escapes weather so there are no inhabitants of the globe that are not affected by it. It is, in the minds of global leftists, a perfect model to oppress every man, woman and child with an infinite punishment for merely existing. There are no facts that will deter them from their model because for the coffers of those who got on board with this worldwide pyramid scheme, climate change is the gift that keeps on giving-forever. They are not going to let it go despite any science that disputes or invalidates their findings.

    Nothing new here.

Wow, almost as if it's cyclic in nature. How did someone plant those forests under all that ice?

No mention of the rise in sea levels or of the indicators of a warming ocean. Pointing to a few examples here and there, does nothing to refute what is happening around the world. So, let's take a look at the Holocene period:

To observe a Holocene environment, simply look around you! The Holocene is the name given to the last 11,700 years* of the Earth's history — the time since the end of the last major glacial epoch, or "ice age." Since then, there have been small-scale climate shifts — notably the "Little Ice Age" between about 1200 and 1700 A.D. — but in general, the Holocene has been a relatively warm period in between ice ages.

Another name for the Holocene that is sometimes used is the Anthropogene, the "Age of Man." This is somewhat misleading: humans of our own subspecies, Homo sapiens, had evolved and dispersed all over the world well before the start of the Holocene. Yet the Holocene has witnessed all of humanity's recorded history and the rise and fall of all its civilizations. Humanity has greatly influenced the Holocene environment; while all organisms influence their environments to some degree, few have ever changed the globe as much, or as fast, as our species is doing. The vast majority of scientists agree that human activity is responsible for "global warming," an observed increase in mean global temperatures that is still going on. Habitat destruction, pollution, and other factors are causing an ongoing mass extinction of plant and animal species; according to some projections, 20% of all plant and animal species on Earth will be extinct within the next 25 years.

As there was a "little ice age", I'm sure there were some periods of increased warmth in some places, which could account for your forests. No big deal.

The sea has been rising long before the advent of what is considered to be caused by man and in fact has slowed down. Deep oceans are cooling, not warming.

Anthropogene, the "Age of Man." is just a rebranding attempt by alarmists.

Well, since the Pope (who now embraces the mantle of climate change alarmist) is now calling for a "global authority" to deal with climate change, I agree, it is nearly impossible to stop this nonsense. ....sigh...

I just love it when liberals are forced to defend their flawed liberal logic!
It's like watching the weekend warriors coming in and out at the local boat launch.

Yes, liberals have linked global warming to the violence in our liberal runs cities, it is because global warming blacks in Chicago are killing each other :roflol:

Global warming, climate change....why not just call it what it is: weather. Now admit that the lefties are just using this ruse to try and trick folks into keeping the environment clean.

No. In other words it means; " I have no interest at all in data or theories that have been regurgitated through an ideological screen." That statement is clear and concise. What happens to those words after they enter your brain however, is another story.

Maybe they were right in the 1970's when they predicted catastrophic global cooling due to man-made pollutants in the air creating a greenhouse effect, like a version of "nuclear winter" but not sudden like a nuclear war.

Or maybe they are just full of BS because the entire subject is a scam by politicians.

What would convince some of us that man is the primary cause for climate change would be if the limited science of climatology could use their co2 levels to then predict what those levels will do in the future. So far, the models have not met the smell test. This would of course imply that co2, and their understanding of it when it comes to climate change is sorely lacking.

What makes some of us suspicious is the adjusting that has gone on when it comes to these measuring stations, that saw their surrounding environment change over the years to become heat sinks with the development of the land. We all know it is hotter in a city than in the countryside.

And what makes others suspicious is that large sums of money are involved, ending up in the hands of a few rich people, in this so called combatting the manmade warming.

Climatology just doesn't have a credible handle on this, for we still do not understand enough about climate change to make the assertions that has been done, and when they use the data they think is pertinent, it never gives us an accurate model. If a science cannot predict, and meet predictions then the theory is flawed.

    Sounds so compassionate.

Tells us how much I must spend and roughly what I get for it because I well understand insurance and stochastic events. Lay it out so I can LOGICALLY buy in.

Note: I expect you to utterly fail here.

I have absolutely no inclination of trying to convince you of anything. Your mind is already made up. Besides, you are sealioning.

Are we actually monitoring the other 98.5% of the globe's surface? Where's the data on all of it?

Exactly. The warming trend started long before the 1950's yet the IPCC considers that the time that manmade CO2 started it's affect.
