The vast majority of folks have probably been infected with SARS-CoV-2 at this point. Many completely unaware because the infection is asymptomatic.

Underscore probably. Do you suggest that earlier strains were also asymptomatic?

Yes, early wild type strain had pretty high asymptomatic rates, over 40% in most studies. The delta variant had much lower asymptomatic rates but the asymptomatic rates increased again with Omicron.

I remember around the end of 2022 about 50% of the population self reported being infected at some time up to that point. That would not include asymptomatics that were not confirmed by a test.

As the vaccinated population continues to lose protection from infection, pretty much everyone will become infected in the near future.

You have more faith in the reporting than i do. Self diagnoses are meaningless, for instance. Common sense tells me everything about covid has been exaggerated.

I don’t have any faith in reporting. The public was fed more horse crap about Covid by media, politicians, and public health officials than on any subject in history.

The truth can only be ascertained by applying known facts about virology and epidemiology to actual replicable studies by reputable scientists. The information you were given by the CDC and NIH was not science based for the most part. Nobody should have had faith in them before Covid and certainly not after. They have been lying about influenza mortality and influenza vaccine efficacy for decades. Covid was just a chance for them to ramp up dissemination of disinformation while using appeal to emotion and authority to create more dependence on their disinformation.

None of us should have faith in any reporting on Covid. Everything must be verified by data and adherence to previous knowledge of virology/epidemiology as well as common sense.
