Indeed climate can drive young first time voters, and it most certainly does. If that had been your statement I would have never bothered to reply because that statement is obvious.

The statement that I replied to was you claiming that climate change with young voters is going to propel Harris to a "surprise dominating win". This is an altogether different claim. Young people have always represented a very small part of the electorate. For them to propel Harris to a surprise dominating win would mean that both campaigns and all polling organizations have missed this huge development (if it were to happen as you claim).

The logical conclusion here is that you are pushing forth the notion that you are hoping will happen, but in truth, for you to have this right and literally everyone else of consequence to be wrong, is about as unlikely of an outcome as is reasonably imaginable.

I think the difference is in 2020 Twitter was owned by the Left.

I hope things don't get too prolonged and nasty. In the MAGA Echo chamber they have already won - so a loss could only arise from rampant cheating. The left see a Trump victory as civilization-ending.

I hope for a swift and decisive victory either way.

I think you are taking this thread and my post way too seriously.

    Seriously?

I wouldn't say seriously. I thought your claim/post was frivolous and 100% without merit. From that perspective I did not take it seriously even slightly. I merely disagreed with your premise and said why. You have defended your position and I pointed out the glaring weakness in that defense. If you are done, so am I. If you want to continue to defend that position, I will continue to refute it.

I wouldn't label this as taking it way too seriously. It is merely a simple debate which is what occurs in here on the regular.

"If you voted against me shame on you." - Donald Trump

I'm trying hard to believe there are a majority of American voters who are intelligent enough to understand that they should not vote for a psychopath, Hitler wannabe, convicted felon, rapist, insurrectionist who wants to terminate the Constitution.

I don’t expect a winner to be declared on election day or the day after or even a couple of days later. What those 7 battleground states have is a bunch of different polling firms doing the polling in each. It’s not the same pollster in all 7. There will be variables and probably some bias towards one or the other candidate. As close as all 7 are, one candidate could win all 7 or lose all 7 or the results may be a 4-3 spit, 5-2 or 6-1. With all 7 states within the MOE, neither candidate in my opinion is the favorite in any of these states.

Good point about Twitter. Definitely a different dynamic now.

I thought you’d go for the coalition government I predicted! :)

We don't know until the results start coming in if the polls erred on way or another.

If they pull that crap again, it won't go down well.

As other's have noted, I hope who ever wins, does so decisively.

Harris wins popular vote by the combined totals of the last two cycles (9,928,212) AND that will be cited as evidence of fraud, “the polls said it would be close”.

Maricopa County, with 4.5 million residents, may take up to 13 days to complete counting.

In Pennsylvania, absentee ballots cannot be counted until Election Day, and the results won't be done for a day or two.

Jesus, this **** again? They only covered up the windows when people were ILLEGALLY filming people voting. They never "kicked out all of the Republican poll watchers." And there was live footage, anyway. You still fall for this vapid ****?

Agreed. All the more reason to vote early, folks! And with Trump and Johnson openly talking about having a "secret plan" in the House, don't forget to vote for your lawmakers as well.

Understand. With computer voting most folks think that leads to instant results. Early voting enhances that thought. But mail in ballots with all that has to go on with them has put a damper so to speak on obtaining instant results. I’m used to waiting, I first began voting in 1968 when one had to be 21. Everyone used paper ballots, all had to be hand counted. Waiting doesn’t bother me, as long as it is got right.

From '68 until a couple decades ago I voted on voting machines. You walk up to the machine, pull the lever to close the curtain behind you, operate the levers beside the names you are voting for, and pull the lever to open the curtain and register your vote on the counters at the back of the machine.

There were no paper ballots (absentee ballots could be requested only for valid causes), no audit trail of individual votes, and the only "recount" was that they could unlock the back of the machine again and read the counters a second time.

We went from paper ballots to punch cards to computers. No voting machines

Voting machines are late 1800s technology and they were used in the more populous parts of the country until NY stopped in 2009.
