this one doesn't do a very good job of hiding the lies though: http://health.yahoo.net/news/s/nm/abortion-rate-decline-stalls-unsafe-abortions-rise the point they are trying to push is that although abortion rates have stabilized, the rate of 'unsafe' abortions has risen. Putting aside the idea of a 'safe' abortion (how one calls a procedure ending in death nearly 100% of the time 'safe' is beyond me)....the article inadvertently contradicts itself. The article tries to say that its the lack of access to birth control and famly planning that forces women to abortion and to 'unsafe' abortions. They cite the abortion rates in third world countries; 32 for every 1000 pregnancies in Latin America, 29 in Africa, etc... but! read a bit more....in Eastern Europe, the most Progressive area of the planet (and to listen to THEM talk) the most sophisticated sexually educated people; with free access to family planning, with schools that teach sexuality...the abortion rate is 42 per 1000!! more than Latin America (a bastion of Catholicism) OR Africa. anyone here want to explain why it is? anyone here want to admit it isn't education or access to freebie birth control that stops abortions? it's morality and the valuing of LIFE that stops abortions.
And you can disprove that with some facts or as usual you do not understand it but speak against it? Yea but that is only your limitation. Does it now? I doubt you would know where Europe is on the map, otherwise you would not post something as ignorant, yes ignorant, as that. Please do attempt to educate yourself a bit more, it is quite embarrassing when in today's global "everything" one still has not clue about part of that globe. Here is a clue, it is not a Christmas ornament. The explanation is simple, you do not know what you are talking about and made a false assertion.
ROTF...so you didn't read the article? thanks for playing...anyone actually want to read the article and address my post? ps. Pro...every fact I posted was FROM THE ARTICLE...hello!? anyone home??
Does the article say that Eastern Europe is "the most Progressive area of the planet (and to listen to THEM talk) the most sophisticated sexually educated people; with free access to family planning, with schools that teach sexuality...the abortion rate is 42 per 1000!! more than Latin America (a bastion of Catholicism) OR Africa."? I think that was your own misconstruction. Here are some helpful facts about some Eastern European countries: http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=53213
The holy ones are desperate to get back to the days of gin and hot baths, knitting needles and unhygenic abortions in backstreets for terrified young girls. They believe in 'life', you see, and therefore want more messy death. Alleluia!
But Education and birthcontrol do stop pregnancies that would result in abortions. "it's morality and the valuing of LIFE that stops abortions", bull, not many people have strong moral causes now, and that value of life your talking about, many adults would rather live their own life and not take responsibility, rather than save the babys life and give up their party years, no its neither of those, its more attributed to shame that getting an abortion would bring.
And I suppose you would for Catholic doctors to perform abortions against their will? Whatcha gonna do, hold a gun to their head?
How did you work that out? In countries where birth control, sex education and safe abortion are freely available there are fewer abortions than in countries with strict birth control laws.
I don't know how you got the idea that Eastern Europe was a bastion of progressiveness or that it is a particluarly liberal area. The truth is that Eastern Europe tends to be rather socially conservative and that the catholic church in particular is very influential. Western Europe which is often lambasted on this board for it's percieved progressive culture has a much lower rate at 12 per 1000. If WE has a lower abortion rate than the US, 12 vs 17 per thousand, can we then according to your logic deduce that WE has a stronger moral fiber and values life more highly than the US? EDIT I got the stat of 17 per thousand from another source. The article in the OP puts the US rate higher at 19 per thousand.
So once again we have the lefty moonbats suggesting the life of the would be killer is more important than the life of the intended victim.
There are a lot of Catholics in Poland and some of these other countries. If Poland or another religious nation wants to outlaw abortions, it is within their rights to do so.
The lives of both are lost if the swine win, as you know. What sort of mad people want to kill fifteen-year-olds out of squalid self-righteousness? People who believe such filth are deeply sick!
Certainly a country has a right to determine its own form of government, but a country that legislates religion is hardly a democracy, and all countries should acknowledge basic human rights.
So instead of a murder suicide, like an illegal abortion will occasionally cause, you would prefer just the intentional homicide underlying the issue 10% of the time? Interesting.
As you know, illegal abortion causes vast numbers of deaths, which is why civilised people made abortion legal. When you are faced with this problem and can't get an abortion, be in touch. Until then, save your breath to blow on your witch burnings.
Why are you pretending not to know this? http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/blog/2007/02/20/abortion-human-part-one
Quite simply, 44 million babies were killed. The number is in the article I am confident that you are delighted that your mommy did not abort you.
