Odd number of teams and Yahoo automatically switches it to "auto pick".

Fantasy leagues dont roll that way, every team has to play every week until the playoffs. At least thats how Ive always understood it. Never played in a league with odd number of teams before.

 

Yea see my link I just posted. Yahoo states they only draft even number of teams.

Well, looks like our draft will be those who get to the free agents first lol. (*)(*)(*)(*)ing auto pick makes you draft a defense and kicker in the 8th and 9th rounds lol. Oh dear lord this is going to be a test of manager skills lol.

 

We can still salvage the draft. Commish just needs to cut someone!

The league still has not drafted yet according to the home page, so apparently we are good right now. HURRY UP AND FIND SOME POOR SAP TO SIGN UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, sorry about all the confusion! I'm out of town right now and don't have reliable Internet access, but it seems that some of the default settings from Yahoo prevents leagues with odd numbers of teams. I tried to fix everything and set it to draft at the earliest time it would let me (9/7/16 at 11:15 pm EST), and I desperately hope everything will work now.

If not, I'll be home tomorrow evening and will hopefully be able to fix everything before the CAR @ DEN game.

 

Ill be awake, but it would be nice to take in one more player just to be on the safe side.

I do know one thing, 7 or 8 team league is going to make for some seriously stacked rosters lol.

Well that was interesting.

 

I was able to draft last night...but tonight, Nancy and I have to go out. Gonna have to accept what the computer picks for me. Hope there is a way to change some things afterwards, but if not, I'll as much as I can with the players I've got.

 

What happened? Just checked and I didn't auto draft.

I just got a note from Yahoo that I need an even number of teams to draft Unfortunately I was unaware of this when I set up the league and probably should have handed it off to Army Soldier, but I was away from the Internet until last night and didn't realize all this. Oh well, hopefully you see this in time and we can still salvage the league.

Also, Yahoo had defaulted to 'Auto Pick', then it didn't do anything because of the odd number of teams. When Yahoo showed the schedule and threw a bye week in there for one team, I thought everything was honky dory and the draft would be normal, but apparently not.....

If everything doesn't get worked out till after kickoff of tonight's game, I wonder if it will be possible to draft next Tuesday or Wednesday?

Again, I'm soooo sorry about all of this, and if I had known how difficult everything would be, coupled with my schedule (test week for this college student), I probably wouldn't have pursued starting a league.

 

I'll still play. One week isn't gonna hurt anything. It might make the draft more interesting.

Hi all,

I believe now that there are eight teams, the draft will function fine. I have reset the draft to Tues, Sept 13th, at 8:00 PM EST. I can assure you that it is on 'Live Online Draft', not Auto Pick. I really hope this will work, and once again, sorry for all the confusion.
