I've been a Steelers' fan for 40 years. The Ravens embarrassed them. I'm not sure if they had a really bad night and the Ravens had a very good night or if it's just going to be a very long season for me. On another note ... WTF?! I was pretty sure that the Broncos were a lock against the Raiders.
I don't think the Ravens were as good as they looked (although I did pick 'em for the SB) or the Steelers are as bad as they looked. Although, if I were a Pitt fan, I'd have to wonder about Troy Polamalu. He was invisible in the SB & I didn't see much from him against Baltimore(I did miss a small portion of the game though). I don't believe in locks, especially in the pros, but I thought for sure that the Broncos would beat the Raiders(revenge & all). The natives were rather restless before the season started. Denver better start winning, patience isn't in abundance around here.
There are two of us left in the pool: Up On the Governor, w/ a +27 point differential, who picks the Rams over the Giants this week. And myself, Arjay, w/ a +7 point differential, & I pick the the Steelers over the Seahawks. Shaker154's consolation pick is the Ravens over the Titans.
What the heck, were the Ravens still celebrating beating the Steelers? Absolutely love seeing the Bills beat the Raiders & the Falcons beat the Eagles!
I wanted to wait until the last minute to see how injuries played out. I am switching to the Giants. It looks like Nicks and Tuck are going to play.
At this point of the week, I'm looking at picking either the Cowboys, Pats, Eagles or maybe even the Bengals. Also contemplating the Pack & Lions. Haven't decided yet.
What's the rush? You could've ended it last week, if you had stuck to your pick. I like the challenge, that's why I started it to begin with.
Because I have a job that keeps me occupied and I am bound to forget this thread exists in the up coming weeks. I pick the Bills over the Pats.
Since I was leaning to the Pats over the Bills anyway, it ends this week. Here's hoping you win, 'cause I hate the Patriots.
It is a trap game for the Patriots. The Bills offense is rolling and New England lacks a pass defense. While the Pats will be looking ahead in the schedule, the Bills are going to throw all day on them. Patrick Chung is out, so that is only going to further weaken NE. It is going to be a high-scoring game.
Agreed, it could be a trap game. But I think Buffalo, with their 2-0 start, has New Englands full attention. In a high scoring shootout, which you may be correct in predicting, I'll take my chances with Brady over Fitzpatrick any day.
