There was some sci fi, maybe a Dr Who episode, where the leader was put up for a vote on I think international television. He sat in a chair on camera and waited for the vote. If he was voted out, he was instantly vaporized.

Its nonsense because you are moving the goal posts..

We are talking about arming teachers in this thread to combat school shooting like the one in FL.. you post up your solution and non of your measures would do anything to stop this last shooting.. so you point to Canada?

Your post was complete nonsense and still is..

The idea of arming teachers is ridiculous. What teacher wants to accept the responsibility of possessing and guarding a gun with a school full of kids to keep away from it? What teacher wouldn't have to think long and hard about personal liability, the need for liability insurance in case of mistakenly shooting a kid, the likelihood of some kid in some other classroom getting his hands on some teacher's gun, the risks associated with firing a gun in a school full of kids, the chance of being mistaken for a mass shooter by the police and being killed, etc. etc. etc.?

No no no the teachers can pay for their own guns if they really love their profession. Teachers can work summer jobs and pay off the credit card that they use to purchase their guns.

Yes seriously. This is being done in Ohio and the students feel safer with real time defense capability available when they are in school.

The teacher's who volunteer for the responsibility of protecting their students in real time with deadly force against armed terrorists. Most of these shootings are over before first responders are able to get to the schools.

Maybe arming teachers isn't such a bad idea if it stops the mentally and spiritually bankrupted like this nutjob bringing guns into schools.

Arming teachers in NYC would not be a good idea. Teachers in many of the schools, especially in the tougher neighborhoods are jumped by students on a regular basis; imagine an armed teacher being jumped by a couple of students who gain control of his gun. I'm sure other schools in the US might have the same issue.

I have no issue with armed guards in schools. Just make sure they are not fruitloop guards and have passed a multitude of tests before allowing them to open carry on school grounds. Teachers armed? No.They are there to teach ONLY.

I am sure you would happily keep schools free kill zones.

Your entire post dismisses school shootings because of car accidents. Car ACCIDENTS. Not car massacres.

    There is a gigantic difference.

a property tax hike of less than $20 a year would
yes! a very bad time should be in that guy's future. That goldbricker should have to pay back every penny before he cowardly changes his identity and slinks out of town...it's obvious he had no intention of actually doing his job.

Pity that the question of armed guards even has to be an issue. Remember when the only thing a student had to fear was his parents hearing about his misbehavior in school. How times have changed.
If an armed guard or an armed teacher would save children's lives why would anyone object?

Or just buying some signs indicating armed personnel inside to replace the gun free zone signs.

The guns would be located in gun safes secretly located around the school.

That could happen whether he's allowed to have a gun or not. What - you think he's going to obey the law after he's turned into a monster?

And violent crime rose when you all were disarmed. Stop pretending you don't have gun violence.
