Meanwhile ... back in Ukraine... the lights are on in Kyev, the skies are clear of enemy aircraft, the Russian ground forces are stuck, and Ukrainian heads are held high.
But... bottom line... why do we care about Ukraine anyway?

The lights are still on in Kiev because Russia allows it. If you understood the stated goals of the SMO, then you wouldn't make such comments. Don't lecture about the US being all bad ass when the US indiscriminately bombed the **** out of poor country using the false pretense of possessing WMDs. The US got ran out of Afghanistan by a bunch of goat herders. The US hasn't won a ground war in over a century.

And what you said doesn't really matter. He's still a bought and paid for POS. You say he's an academic, implying an above average IQ. He has shown none of that on the world stage.

I am doubtful that many Americans would support war with Russia over Ukraine. Although I think it may take a few more years for American public in general to figure out that Ukraine is in a fight they cannot possibly win and America is just forestalling the inevitable by propping them up financially and materially.

I hope Ukraine wins, but it will take a miracle or direct allied involvement in the war which is not going to happen.

The sad reality is Putin will not stop even if he gets all of Ukraine. Peter Zeihan has explained why.

Well you know him personally, I don't, so the only aspect of Austin I see as the Defense Secretary making extremely stupid statements, like this one, from time to time.

    Brilliance not demonstrated.

I don't know who that Peter dumbass is but Putin doesn't even want all of ukraine. It is widely known outside "the west" that Putin hates what Lenin did to Russia. Putin understands that diversity is a problem. Putin has stated that you can't force people to live and be like Russians if they aren't Russian. This is the problem in "the ukraine" with the Bandera Poles (ethnic ukrainians) and the ethnic Russians living in the part of Russia renamed "the ukraine" by Lenin.

From ruZZia's spy chief to AARguy's lips..

Ukraine war live updates: Putin’s spy chief says Ukraine could become a ‘second Vietnam’ for the U.S. as it drags on resources

    ...

“If Putin takes Ukraine, he won’t stop there,” Biden said, Reuters noted. Putin will attack a NATO ally, he predicted, and then “we’ll have something that we don’t seek and that we don’t have today: American troops fighting Russian troops,” Biden said.

“We can’t let Putin win,” he said.

The address drew an angry response from Moscow, with Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov commenting on Telegram that Biden’s comments were “provocative rhetoric unacceptable for a responsible nuclear power.”

    ... https://www.cnbc.com/2023/12/07/ukr...st-news-on-russia-and-the-war-in-ukraine.html

It is more a second Afghanistan with a bonus Vietnam thrown in for ruZZia than a second Vietnam for us.

Peter Zeihan is someone who understands the facts far better than you do and is widely respected and highly paid accordingly.

D, your projection is noted. Run along now or if you really want to back up your mouth, go worship some Bandera statues in ukie land and learn about the place. Jan 1, the nazi holy day in ukie land, just around the corner. Get a tiki torch and join in the parade. Then come back and comment....slava ukie and all that garbage.

Zeihan was born in 1973,[4][5] and grew up as the adopted son of educators Jerald and Agnes Zeihan in Marshalltown, Iowa. He graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1992.[6][7] In 1995, he obtained a BSc in Political Science from what then was Northeast Missouri State University, and a postgraduate diploma in Asian studies from University of Otago (Dunedin, New Zealand) in 1997.

Discouraged by his experiences during his work at the American Embassy in Australia and at Susan Eisenhower's think tank, the Center for Political and Strategic Studies, he began working as an analyst for Austin-based geopolitical intelligence firm Stratfor in 2000.[7][8][9] Zeihan spent 12 years at Stratfor, eventually rising to vice-president.[9]

While still at Stratfor, Zeihan coauthored his first book, A Crucible of Nations, with Lauren Goodrich in 2011. The book discusses the Caucasus region of Eastern Europe.

Zeihan left Stratfor in 2012, founding his consulting firm Zeihan on Geopolitics that same year. His client list grew to include energy companies, financial institutions, business associations, agricultural interests, universities, and other government organizations.[10]

    Published works
In 2014 he released Accidental Superpower. The book was reviewed by The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and Kirkus Reviews.[8][11][12] The book focused on topographical and geographical landmarks (rivers, oceans, mountains, etc.) as distinct advantages in a state's ability to dominate other countries economically, industrially, and militarily. With the use of maps, Zeihan pointed out that navigable rivers, or access to the oceans, along with a reliable road or rail network make a critical difference.[8] Accidental Superpower also used demographic calculations of national populations to forecast how different countries like the US will maintain an edge in the geopolitical future.[13] He subsequently published three more books The Absent Superpower (2017), Disunited Nations (2020), and The End of the World Is Just the Beginning (2022).

ABSURD position now considering that on the day of the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Bidens policy was to offer Zelensky a fast jet ride out of Ukraine before the Russians take over Kiev.

Are you talking about the U.S. war in Afghanistan? The Afghans drove out the American and NATO contingents with the help of hoes.

Ahahaha... U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is a complete idiot. (However, in the US, the president is an incompetent idiot. ):roflol::roflol::roflol:
Is the entire US leadership an idiot? Do you vote in elections based on which candidate is more of an idiot? :roflol::roflol::roflol:

Show that degenerate, U.S. Secretary of Defense, this picture.

This is the result of a US war on a small, economically weak, non-nuclear-armed country.
Or show him a movie about how the US, along with NATO, fled Afghanistan when the Afghan goat herders chased them hoe away.

Realistically, the entire American leadership needs to be treated in a mental institution.

And the question inevitably arises - who did you vote for?

Russia is totally incompetent in waging war. Leaving power on in your enemy's homeland while continuing military operations simply means yopu like seeing your own soldiers die.
I am not talking about the reasons for war. If you are going to have a war... WIN IT! Kill your enemy! Destroy his will to resist and his ability to make wear. All your diplomatic falderal simply says that Russia should have kept talking and never fired a shot.
And NONE of this has a damn thing to do with the US. Libs are unable to stay ion point and must always bring racism, or religion, or their hate of America into every conversation. Like here, where the conversation has NOTHING to do with America.

When you call someone a POS you have lost in the discussion. Logic and civility is gone and emotion, hate, and immaturity have taken over.

By the way, in reference to his IQ... he's a West Point grad with a PhD.

Agreed. Biden's cowardice so aptly demonstrated in Afghanistan and repeated in allowing China to freely violate our airspace and allowing Russia to shoot down our Predator with impunity... is more than dangerous.
