I understand. I have friends who have similar personalities, and they also avoid drugs. I'm more laid back in that regard and am willing to take risks with life. After all, I was in juvenile prison for a few years lol.

 

I don't know how much it has to do with my personality. As a teen, I partied quite a bit. I just outgrew it. I've come to realize that people act like retards when they're drunk.

 

Yeah, when you are sober, drunk people obviously look retarded. The whole point is to do it with other people!!!

By the way, I hear there is a religion called Mormonism, and they are accepting applications from people who hate drinking lol.

 

Are you being snarky? I'm not religious. Anyhow, I choose to only drink occasionally. I really don't get much enjoyment out of it. To each her/his own!

Speaking of work, I have to go and get ready to go to work. Usually I work nights, but I'm working from 1 pm to 9 pm today. It kind of sucks because I'm not used to these hours. See ya, wouldn't want to be ya!

How late do you work? I'll just say I get off around 6am. I actually like it and am not having any trouble adjusting. It kills me socially, but that is EXACTLY what I need. Fewer opportunities to go out means fewer opportunities to spend money and drink heavily.

Usually I work from 9 PM to 5 AM. I love those hours. I love 3rd shift.

 

I'm quickly becoming a big fan! I still get plenty of daylight if I want it, and I don't have to deal with people much while I'm working. I just put my headphones in and go to town!

Yeah, I've seen bar hags lol. The goal is to not be drinking so heavily outside your late 20's and early 30's. I think I'm already reaching the end of my hard-drinking days

 

My sister married a hard-drinking hard-smoking hard-gambling Hell's Angel 40 years ago, and although I don't do none of that I got on great with him.
Sometimes he'd half-jokingly taunt me by saying "Huh, you're not a man if you don't drink or smoke".
He died of lung cancer a few years ago aged about 60, but I'm still around and going strong..

 

Yeah, I feel like hard partying on a regular basis is something that needs to be gone by the thirties, though everyone should do it occasionally.

 

To return to the original reason for this thread I would like to point out that the beautiful liberal is, by this time, either gone permanently from your life or you are both contemplating marriage

And this is a good time to further note that there is one, and only one, reason for humans of either sex to have anything to do with each other and that is sexual attraction. By the way, I work way too hard to get drunk anymore. I'm not sure if I'm actually exercising willpower or if my body just can't handle it. 4 glasses of wine is about all I want to mess around with these days.

Yes, sexual attraction is at the foundation of pretty much everything. If I woke up one day and was told that I'd never again sleep with a beautiful woman, I would kill myself as quickly as possible, without a doubt.

 

I tried a few sips of various booze and wine in my early teens, but it all tasted like cat pee so I've avoided it ever since.
Correction- at the occasional office parties over the years naughty women have tried to get me drunk and I've gone along with it to be a good sport, and also as an experiment.
At first I experienced a certain pleasant euphoria as if I was snugly wrapped in cotton wool, and it was as if my consciousness had shrunk and no longer extended out into the universe.
But I can't say I enjoyed it for long because I felt like a village idiot, unable to think, so when I'd sobered up next day I was glad to get my brain back..

 

It doesn't do that to everyone lol. I'm sorry alcohol didn't work out for you!

I've honestly always liked the character of Lucifer. I sympathize with him more, and my personality is more similar to that personality than the more righteous types.

 

Jesus said "Satan has bound this crippled woman for 18 years" (Luke 13:16), then he cured her, so I think Satan sounds a nasty piece of work..

 

How can you believe in a Satan if you aren't a religious person?
