If this thread really is about the best movies ever...Terminator 2 is the best movie of all time. Anyone who disagrees can challenge me in a pillow fight.
I didn't like "HEAT". I liked ''RUSH". Much darker, hype-free and down to earth, based on true story.
Pulp Fiction is way up there. The Usual Suspects and Blade Runner just behind. Anything Hepburn and Tracey. Guess Who's Coming to Dinner.
Christmas Carol with George C Scott he could display emotion with his face so well [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1-aIOpV0dA"]A Christmas Carol (1984) - Highlights - YouTube[/ame]
I used to like Alistair Sim untl George C Scott did it his type of acting is a lost breed. He and others like him could suck you in just with their mannerism and expressions. It's what they didn't say which communicated more. Now it's special effects and in your face graphics.
Anyone who hasn't seen the Seven Samurai should. I don't think it is possible for me to decide what my favorite it, and part of it is because different genre's evoke different reactions but you folks have listed many of them: Seven Samurai Godfather Terminator 2 Aliens Casablanca African Queen The hard part of me- as much as I love comedies- is to identify the greatest comedy movies of all time.
"Alien" is my best film. A recent "Mr. Brooks" is also a good movie. In general, all the films Martin Scorsese creation
if you're wearing your PJs, Terminator: Salvation was worlds better. Christian Bale was the best John Conner evar!
You're just asking for a pillow fight. Even if I thought Terminator 2 was the best, I'd disagree just for the pillow fight.
"Heat" may not be the best movie ever, but it has one of the best gun fights ever. I remember seeing that movie and thinking that was the first time I'd ever heard them get the sounds of gunfire right.
Any discussion on the best film "ever," is going to be subjective. In my opinion the best film is "The Last of the Mohicans." It appeals to both men and women, it's both a romance and action movie. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend the movie. It's an epic adaptation of classic literature.
A very good movie, I agree. I also agree on how subjective this question is. I think pulp fiction was good, but it is no where near my favorite. Same goes for fight club. Same goes for godfather actually. If I were forced to pick a favorite movie I would say almost famous, and I am sure most people in this thread will disagree.
Salvation was better than Rise Of The Machines, I will give you that. As much as Edward Furlong bugged me, I thought he played a great John Connor.
Goodfellas is easily the best film ever made. Terminator 2 is a good film(and looks awesome on blu-ray), but some of the dialogue is just laughable. Not nearly as laughable as the newer Terminator movies though. Most of the acting and dialogue in the new ones is about as cheesy as the Fast And The Furious movies. How someone could sit through 5 of those crapfests is beyond me.
All reports seem to indicate that this film will break all box office records and will go on to win a record number of Oscars at the next Academy Awards.
