The proof is in the fact that many people who got the loans can't afford to pay them back.

It sounds like you believe that shifting the burden will not affect tax payers. It actually makes the problem worse by moving private debt to our national debt. The same people that cheered for suing trump university for charging money for useless knowledge, are now cheering for the same fraud.

    Do you have kids?
Do you think its fair for their great grandchildren to pay for this fraud?

It seems those gender studies degrees aren't working out so well and we paid for them.

Half of College Grads Are Working Jobs That Don’t Use Their Degrees

Choice of major, internships and getting the right first job after graduation are critical to career paths, new data show

Five and 10 years after graduation, many college-educated workers remain underemployed

Roughly half of college graduates end up in jobs where their degrees aren’t needed, and that underemployment has lasting implications for workers’ earnings and career paths.

I do not see Republican States turning it down, not Biden deciding who gets it by the State

exactly, this is why we need public schools, both grade school and college - if one is rich enough for private, more power to them

If I ever have great grandchildren, they will pay based on their income and not what the government spent 50 years ago.

Well why don't we just cancel people's mortgages and car notes while we're at it?

Why should people that took out loans they can't afford be the only ones that get to enjoy other people paying for their choices?

Pretty neat that I don't even have kids but I get to pay for some other people's kids to go to college.

Nothing but pure vote buying and the abuse of public funds. Of course any of the freeloaders benefiting from it don't see it that way

If it has such a high rate of return then they should have no problem paying it back themselves.

Your talking point is easily proven false.

So 'caring about citizens' is forcing people to pay back a loan taken out by someone else?

    You're wrong, sorry.

It’s not a talking point as it has tons of data behind it
You see countries that prioritize education and educational value leapfrog the US.

But as always, thanks for your opinion

No, sorry. If it has such a high rate of return then they should be able to pay it back easily instead of asking for help from people who didn't go to college.

You've disproven absolutely nothing and those countries you are referring to are NOT doing this. They invest in education from the ground up, not bail out people who get worthless degrees. Those are NOT the same thing.

Once again, if it has a high rate of return, we wouldn't have to bail them out.

My argument has always been we have to invest in education “from the ground up”

And to do that we have to take the enormous burden off two generations and then prevent it from happening again.
