The same people that pay for the roads, the military, these big beautiful government buildings all over the globe. I am fine with my taxes going up to do so because it benefits this nation.

How is it that other countries seem to be able to have education, childcare and healthcare for the taxpayers of their nation while we have a rapidly sinking education that is for profit and drowning students in debt, a medical system that bankrupts its users and some of the most expensive childcare in the world.

My original point is still correct. If it has such a high rate of return, they wouldn't need to be bailed out.

And the burden hasn't been removed, it's been passed on to taxpayers in the form of more national debt....long term that's probably a worse burden.

You are incorrect. They will pay whatever government tells them to pay or face the mighty IRS! Taxes go up. As the national debt increases, so do the interest payments. Where do you think they will get the money for that?

While some were playing beer pong and smoking pot, others worked their way through school so that they would not incur debt. Now that have to pay for the screw ups. I do understand that these screw ups will vote for the party that rewarded their poor choices.

Hah you just say what I have said all along that you find objectionable---your taxes are based on your income i.e. "whatever government tells them to pay". It isn't like conservatives bellyache about all the burden placed on them today because of the cold war, war on terror, gulf war, tax cuts, and all the largess they brought home for their donors that we allegedly are all paying now. We will monetize this spending just like we do all the GOP spending to the point that it becomes little more than a rounding error as to actual opportunity costs. Conservatives are just pissed because this might help defeat the Orange Man again and they have no counter to it and deep down in their soul they know this could very well cost them severely because it disproportionately benefits borrowers in red states. The best they can come up with is to tax the forgiveness in their states to punish anyone who dared aspire to not slave in factories or perpetually pay lot rent in a trailer park for all of their adult life. Your team lost and all the bitching isn't going to change that, but keep on cutting at your nose to spite your face. It'll make it that more ironic when you are being totally ignored by Acting President Harris in a couple years.

I admire your honesty and willingness to admit that this was vote buying to beat the orange guy. I won't argue with you about GOP spending our money like thieves with stolen credit cards. I am not a Republican. I do not suckle from either partisan nipple; right or left. You are right to criticize, but are not pointing with clean hands.

I also admire your honesty and willingness to reveal how you look down on the less fortunate. Most Dems try to project a false image of concern for the poor and low income.

My teem looses every time someone with a D or an R by their name gets elected. My team consists of my fellow Americans, and they are losers because they are at each others throats while Dems and Reps spend future generations into insolvency.

    I enjoyed your tanTrump.

An uneducated nation is a failed nation

While I agree we need to do something about the national debt, we also need to prioritize the health education and well being of our citizens.

We will just have to agree to disagree

From the "ground up" I'm assuming you also include grades K-12. Look at the Asian countries, they're clobbering us in math. Dozens of schools in Baltimore and Chicago don't have a single student doing math or reading at grade level. The Asians put a priority on getting an education, many parents and schools in this country do not, in fact, schools have lowered the requirements to graduate. Also, with such dismal grade scores, should any time at all -any time at all - be spent on crt, gender studies and drag queen story hours? Even colleges seem to prioritize social engineering over actual learning.

    1. Because we know exactly where the money for car notes and mortgages are going.

    2. Why should anyone be paying back that money that takes decades upon decades to pay off and makes hard life now even harder?

Seems like not burdening graduates with debt would be a more useful thing to teach.

Would you like it if Trump had someone at every polling station offering voters thousands of dollars of they voted for him?

Why are tuition costs so high to begin with? I think that's a problem that could use a serious deep dive.

    What?

Are you implying that the MAGA folks just love tRump because he's (fill in the blank)? MAGA doesn't want something out of the Orange blob in exchange for their vote?

All tRump does is feed hate, and his minions seem to have a huge appetite for it. They are willing to give up our democracy for this buffoon, a sick love affair based on hypocrisy and lots of paranoia. I feel sorry for them because there will be some who will not understand how they are contributing to their own demise.

    He's doing it in REVERSE.

He's already packing the RNC with his daughter-in-law, Laura. And more RNC money will be going to his legal defense. What a guy!

That there is also a huge problem, tuition and books being needlessly expensive already set kids up to be worse before they get into their first class.

And you probably can't even see the connection between who you voted for and the out of control inflation around you everyday... Pot kettle black

    So naive.

There's no such thing as getting rid of the debt. You can only pass it on to people who shouldn't have to pay it back.

Once again, that is absolutely NOT caring about citizens. You are still wrong here. There's no justifying forcing people who already paid back their loans or didn't take out any at all to pay back the loans of those who did and refuse or can't pay. No justifying it at all.
