    AND if people are charged more due to rising prices due to inflation rates, ARE THEY not spending more for the same or lesser amount... Your leftist math is flawed ;)

    Runaway inflation :)

    Sure

    In June the US's and UK's per capita deaths per 100k people were at 30 and 56 respectively. By the end of December they were around 105 and 120 respectively. This is because the UK's population is 68 million, not 44 million.

    Although even then so, your math was still off

    LOL. GDP is an inflation adjusted measure.

    Rapid growth in economy, as we are seeing now, causes inflation especially when supply can't satisfy demand. You got it totally upside down, not to mention that you didn't know GDP is adjusted to inflation.

    My source said 44 million, but regardless, even your calcualtions say the death rate is higher in the UK than in the US.

    It is supposed to be, but looking at the numbers, I have my doubts.

    UK population is 67 million.

    Covid deaths per 1 million:
    US = 2,391
    UK = 2,152
    EU = 1,941

    You can get various numbers depending on the sources, but the numbers are substantially the same especially when you consider that the UK has an easier time controlling their borders.

    As opposed to your desire to use numbers during a global pandemic to try and make him look bad?

    I'll stick with my logic.

    Actually, this isn't really accurate. Inflation is caused by primarily two circumstances.

    1. Over injection of currency into an economy that outpaces growth.

    2. Economic growth resulting in demand outpacing supply.

    We are seeing a combination of both of these primary causes. If honesty is at all part of the conversation.

    It isn't just fuel. We are seeing significant inflation across the spectrum of goods and services.

    Many Americans live pay check to pay check, and don't have a million in investments. This inflation creates the biggest hardship on Middle and lower income Americans.

    I'll agree with that, but they absolutely have an effect when they put forth executive orders that impact speculative markets like petroleum. Further, increased free money and stimulus programs drive economic fluctuations including inflation.

    US death rate per million: 2,409 (rank 18 )

    UK death rate per million: 2,179 (rank 25)

    Really not the type of spread there to be wagging your finger.

    Many of our largest corporations are reporting RECORD PROFITS which are then further increaSING THEIR ALREADY LOFTY STOCK PRICES. THEY ARE IN EFFECT CREATING OUR INFLATION.

    In 2020 we injected by far most money than any other year and its not even close. As for economic growth causing inflation, - it is what I just said.

    Fuel is the biggest one. Food, etc hasn't gone up much.

    Wages are going up too, so there is that.

    So, in your opinion an inflation rate of 6.8% is no big deal?

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.th...on-rate-rise-2021-highest-increase-since-1982

    Is that really how you feel? Or is your perspective driven by the politics of who currently controls Washington?

    Because most economists would agree that rate is harmful and unsustainable.

    It has very little to do with borders. Largest population centers are always worst hit, which was the case in NYC early on in the pandemic, and they don't have a border with anyone. Likewise, London was heaviest hit in UK.

    Has little to do with borders? How do you think it got here? There is free access in and out of the cities.

    I told you: I am not a Biden fan, and I don't credit him for the economic surge. Who sits in the WH is 1000 more important to you than me. That is why you want to omit negative numbers from Trump, and highlight them for Biden. Its classic partisan behavior.

    It is not expected to sustain. GDP growth won't stay at these levels either, and job gains will return to normal levels. This year is a counter reaction for last year. Global supply side issues might continue longer, which is a problem, but that too will correct itself over time.

    It got here by airplane, and closing air travel isn't any easier for UK than US. I might have contributed to it, because I flew back from Europe in late December 2019 and I had all the classic Covid symptoms during the flight and I was coughing my lungs out in the plane. Of course no one had heard of Covid at that time. It started about 1-2 months after that.

    Do you want US to close down air-travel?

    Bill and Obama accomplished what little they did because they had Republican congresses.

    You haven't noticed our southern border? The northern border is not that secure. Thousands pour across undetected and untested. It is easy to control people coming in and out by airplane.
    What I want has nothing to do with it. The claim was that the UK and EU was doing so much better than the US and that is simply not true.

    Yes, but it has not been a significant source of infection spikes in US, mostly because the illegals avoid contact with the general population to avoid detection.

    If its so easy, then who dropped the ball? Air travel made it in to a global pandemic and air travel turned Florida into a disaster earlier this year.

    Europe was hit hard in the beginning, but got it under control faster than us.

    Precisely how do they do that? They come here to work or whatever. They eat and they have to have houses.
    I doubt that air travel had that much to do with it. But, now they are doing rather well.
    But their numbers are not that different.

    Obama gave us the slowest economic recovery in modern times because unlike bill he refused to compromise with the Republicans.
