Do they eat in your house? No, they stay in the shadows the best they can and they travel very little, they don't work in office environments, and they do not associate with many people. They don't hang out in bars and restaurants etc. They are not big spreaders.

And we saw biggest economic melt-downs in recent history under Bush and Trump. Somehow I think recovery is better, even a slow one. Stock market tripled under Obama, so maybe it wasn't as slow as you'd like to think.

GOP decide on Week-1 of his presidency to oppose him across the board, and in the end they opposed 3 proposals for corporate tax cuts, and building a border wall at the Southern border, and many other things they wanted to do themselves. I suppose they were embarrassed about how badly they screwed up the economy under "W", and wanted Obama to carry some of the blame.

 

Wrong, repubs openly stated that they would block and obstruct ANYTHING he tried to do. And a recovery is still a recovery.

 

Really?? You compare the drop in GDP due to the pandemic to the increase in GDP during the recovery. Talk about meaningless, that is about as meaningless as you can get.

 

But once we do hear about it, which has been the vast majority of the time, the spread by aircraft is much easier to control than with illegals coming across the border.

Since they travelled in large groups to get here, it is likely a higher percent of them have it. They buy food. They interact. They have less healthcare. It does not take but a few seconds for an infected person to spread Covid. Our Mexican restaurants likely have several illegals on their staff as waiters, etc.

 

Then why on earth didn't they control it?

To get their average, you add up Trump's 4 years growth and divide by 4, and then you add up Obama's 8 years, and divide by 8. And yes, with Obama, you include 2009, which was impacted by the economic meltdown. Even if you use your math, and omit all bad numbers for Trump, and not for Obama, Trumps average is still barely the same as Obama's, even when you include ALL Obamas numbers, the good and the bad.

An average over a period of vastly different conditions is meaningless. It neither reflects the conditions before the change or after the change. Second grade arithmetic would have told you that.

Well looked at it logically, the first terms of each President was reversed! Mr. Obatard started his climb from a minus and huge stimulus to pay for recovery... On the other hand, Trump had at best two years before he was faced with Pandemic which cratered the U.S. and world economies and he was forced to print money to pay for Democrats economic shutdown and quarantine.. I don't expect you to understand the two scenario's but I'm sure some will

 

The four year average for Trump is meaningless because it is interrupted by the virus. The four year average represents neither the conditions before the virus nor after the virus.

Not when you look at workforce participation rate. A lot of people dropped out of the workforce due to a lot of factors. This is a big reason we have the inflation problem. We can't produce like we did before because we lack the manpower so prices go up.

 

We have over 100 million people working age 16-64 who are not participating in our workforce. Many may be women who cannot afford to pay for child care as they cannot earn enough. We also may have many over 60 who opted for early retirement and can afford it.
