    Lincoln was an anti-Capitalist, pro-labor, who wanted to add value of productivity back to the laborer not to the capitalist who owned that laborer.

    Because slavery was heinous and racist. Whites were never slaves in the US. Never, no matter how much you want to try and equivocate a 7 year debt of indentured servitude to slavery.

    Slavery was brutal, and evil, and it doesn't matter that SOME slaves at SOME TIMES were treated "better" than other slaves.

    They were not equivalent.

    The owner of an indentured servant's contract rapes her, impregnates her, and then tries to treat the child as his property: he's committed a crime that in most states was punishable by hanging.

    A slaveowner rapes a slaves, impregnates her, and then tries to treat the child as his property: he gets elected 3rd President of the United States.

    They aren't (*)(*)(*)(*)ing comparable.

    Conversations with you must really be long winded and uninteresting if you believe when discussing a topic you must bring up every single aspect about that is part of the historical record. Someone asks you about your house and you start explaining the process required to make the screws that hold up the dry wall.

    The funny thing is that in states which instituted photo ID laws the left lawyers tried to find people who had been prevented from voting because they could not show a photo ID. They could not find anyone. Except for a lady in IN who was not allowed to vote after presenting a FL drivers license. :smile:

    The Black slave population did grow faster than the rate of Europe at the same time, which would support that they may have been better fed than the peasants of Europe who had to fend for themselves.

    That's what the world was like back then and today Africa is still in the slave trade business and the Muslim world in the Middle East are still buying these slaves, the same slave owners that the Clinton Foundation and Hillary's campaign accepts money from.

    America would have followed suit and ended slavery at the same time Great Britain did in 1833 if it weren't for the Nat Turner Rebellion of 1831. A black slave prolonged slavery in America for 32 years.
