Did the police find a couple 'engaged in a sexual act' when they got there? I see no suggestion that they did. There was no reason for them to do anything other than note that nobody seemed to be breaking any laws and leave.

 

A black woman kissing a White man is cause for suspicion but a person walking down the street with a rifle should raise no suspicion.

Because the police investigated it due to a citizen complaint. There was nothing random about this.

Apparently whoever called it in -- and the police were responding to an official call -- considered the couple to be on the verge of coupling in the open; which is an activity that the police are supposed to look into. People tend to demand it of them, and get surly about it if they decline. Go figure.

 

So wanting to have sex is now enough to be arrested? With that attitude good luck trying to get the youth vote.

 

Apparently being investigated due to an official call and then refusing to provide identification when it's asked for is grounds for being handcuffed . . . which is not legally the same as being arrested. That is, that's the way things happen in sane states. But where she was arrested, who knows what insane boundaries leftwingers have managed to place on their police forces while still demanding that somehow their LEOs still get the job done?

I do not like the idea of a police state or being arrested for not having the proper papers. She did nothing wrong except refuse to show ID. While that may be the law in Kalifornia, it shouldn't be.

In this particular situation, what part of showing them her ID would mean she wasn't a prostitute and not doing what they suspected her of doing?

Considering that the nearly copulating couple were on the Studio City property and that the Studio City Policemen would be able to check her I.D. against the computerized list of people authorized to be on that property, it would instantly have solved the mystery, thus clearing this 'C' actress of being that sort of a freelance professional.

 

Agreed. Can't have it both ways. The Kalifornia Kops were in the wrong here, but if they were simply following the law, then the Kalifornia law is the problem, not the police.
