The disparity between the evidence of Biden's wrongdoing (nothing that has been substantiated) and Trump's (mountainous with the addition of the tape) is cavernous.

 

Brace yourself! Yes they can! They don't need to show the document to the jury. And they sure as hell won't show YOU a classified document. But they can show the judge, if she has security clearance. And she can instruct the jury to assume the content accordingly, even though it cannot be shown to them.

All the excuses that the MAGA media has come up with work great with their audience. But they sure as hell are not going to work with a jury in a fair trial.

So if you don't want to suddenly receive the "surprise" when your orange idol is convicted, you need to start getting used to the idea that this trial is not going to be decided by Tucker or Hannity or Breitbart based on nonsense they feed you on their disinformation hours. Instead, it's going to be decided by a jury. And none of this crap they make up for YOUR consumption is going to make the least bit of difference.

Sad part of all these audios is that Trump might go to jail. I really, really don’t want Trump in jail. I want him to run as 3rd party candidate and lose again along with whomever is GOP nominee. That will be sweeter then Trump in prison.

 

I don't think he'll go to prison. The judge is too favorable to him to give that kind of sentence, and I think even a non-Trump-worshipping judge would be hesitant to give a prison sentence, both because of the politics and because of the logistical concerns. Any incarceration will likely just be home confinement, which he'll probably get away with breaking anyway.

Plus he can still run even if he goes to prison. I also think it is unlikely that he'll run 3rd party at this point. I don't think he'll lose the primary, even if he's somehow convicted before the primary. He's got a stranglehold on the party. The GOP could come up with some kind of rule saying that you can't be their candidate if you've been convicted of a federal crime, but they won't do that. The party would implode more than it has already.

I suppose there is a slim, slim possibility that he might step down from running if convicted, cutting a deal with the other candidates that they will pardon him if they win. And pretty much everyone in the party except Chris Christie would sign on for that kind of deal. For that to even happen, though, his lawyers will have to convince him that he wouldn't be able to pardon himself, and I don't think he'd listen to that.
