We know the Border Patrol are disciplined. We know the NG is disciplined. We know the active duty military is disciplined.

However, these civilians grabbing their guns and heading to the border are NOT disciplined, and it is evidenced by their own comments (talking about war, etc).

I was fine with the military going there, knowing they were not going there locked and loaded, but these guys can turn this into a bloodbath.

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/border-p...armed-civilians-in-area-due-to-caravan-report

The U.S. Border Patrol this week reportedly told Texas landowners along the U.S.-Mexico border to prepare for a possible influx of "armed civilians" on their property as the migrant caravan moves closer to the U.S

Three activists told the AP they were going to the border or organizing others, and groups on Facebook have posted warnings about the caravan. One said it was “imperative that we have boots on the ground.” Another wrote: “WAR! SECURE THE BORDER NOW!”

President Trump tweeted on Monday, "This is an invasion of our Country and our Military is waiting for you!"

"We go about our business here every day in a peaceful manner. The idea that we could be invaded not by illegal immigrants but by militia groups … is regrettable, and it will end badly."

They have open carry laws in Texas, they can go where they like.

So, in Texas you can just set up camp in someone else property and play war? Maybe they'll slaughter a hog in your bathtub when they get hungry. I'm glad I don't like in TX. Here is Florida, we have private property rights.

Not on private property. Unless you have permission.

    Ah my mistake.

Them being armed makes little difference, trespass is trespass.

Illegal immigrants on private property and the left yawns. US citizens on private property the left is unhinged. Just put up no hunting signs. Post your land with no trespassing signs and see which side obeys.

Eh? Is there something in the Border Patrol comments you are not getting, or not agreeing with? I am pretty sure the Border Patrol and the landowners are concerned about both illegals AND militias invading their property.

    This will end badly.
Texas has the "Stand your ground" law. You can defend your property with lethal force if said trespasser refuses to leave or continues to advance on your property. In Texas there is no law stating a landowner must retreat and allow someone to remain/continue through their lands.
HOWEVER - that of course does not include other people who do not own the land.
I completely understand the outrage by citizens there. This is INDEED an invasion and an act of war.
But let the military defend us.

Texas is somewhat different from other States, because they allow use of deadly force to defend your property. Other States allow it only to defend yourself, or other persons.

The law considers trespassing a crime, even if you don't.

    That is not true.
A gang of people running around shooting other people regardless of whether they are criminals or not - are themselves breaking many laws and are therefore a criminal.
I completely support, 100%, all of the landowners taking whatever steps they deem necessary to protect themselves and their lands. Including having INVITED relatives/friends or anyone else to help them do so. Including lethal force.
If it was me, I would put up large signs written in Spanish saying "Attention illegals crossing on this property: You WILL be shot and killed if you enter this property and do not immediately retreat".
And then I would have myself, and how many others I could gather and line the property.
    It is an invasion.

Apparently you don't consider illegal immigrants coming onto private land trespassing. They do that while tresspassing by US citizens to stop them has not as yet happened

Tell me when that actually happens. Until then real tresspassing of our border occurs daily and as we speak.

let the fed do their jobs, armed civilian has no place to interrupt official business from border control, they can report it, but not intervene

I think civilians can serve as a suppliment to areas where neither Border Patrol, the National Guard, or active duty members are prevalent. As long as they're not tresspassing, I'm for it.

    Well said and so true

But the militia should respect the properity rights of the landowners and I suspect they will

That's another great reason to station a couple of divisions of infantry on the border for total control -- in all directions.
