    Noice!

Got something similar myself. Christmas Present from my gal when we still did that stuff. And my other knife, the Olfa 1/4" utility knife is massively excellent!

Man those knives look fun! I wish they were more resistant to corrosion, 5160 steel rusts pretty fast.

I have a steel chain bullwhip that I fabricated. The handle is about a foot long made of heavy steel tube with a 1-in steel ball welded to the end. There is five different diameters of chain, each one being smaller than the one in front of it. And where I cut and join the link at, they are also welded.

The business end of the whip is woven paracord like a traditional Florida cow whip.

I'll have to get another picture and post it here. I also make and use regular bullwhips.

Needless to say the steel whip is unforgiving to learn the art of whip cracking with.

You can't believe anything you read on Amazon.

Those cheap knives might look good but they're basically butter knives.

IMHO best fillet/fishing knives are made by Mora. Think they use 12C27 stainless.

And inexpensive. If I get one then I should probably get two so I'll have a back up, just in case.

Oh, no doubt. I'm pretty rough on my knives. I'm constantly digging, prying, etc. Just a few minutes ago I dug a nail out of a tractor tire with my cheap knife. The one in my pocket now was, I think, 3 for $12. If it gets too dull, or breaks, I just throw it away and unbox a nice sharp new one.

Sometimes I lose them or drop them into places that would be a pain to retrieve. I've lost a few nice knives and multi tools out here. Hurts my soul. Cheap knives are better for me.

This is identical to one I am carrying today. This is a newer model; the one I have is black, and now discontinued. I bought a dozen of them from a surplus sale, I think they were 3 for $12 or something like that. It is perfect for how I (ab)use my knife on a daily basis. I can open/close it one handed, the serrations stay really sharp, if (when) I break off the tip, my feelings don't get hurt.

Yeah, their choice of going with 5160 is pretty interesting. I guess they were fans of Dune. Planning the business. Maybe doing some bong hits. One of the guys jacks around with a blade and another guy says something like, may your blade chip and shatter. A third guy who had been obsessed with what to use for the perfect blade cried, Eureka! 5160! Will never chip and never shatter!

Cut that damn F150 hood in half. That was pretty cool. Recovered almost 100% from that 90° bend was educational - wasn't aware there was any steel capable of this type of behavior. They do seem to attract rust though. I've the original Phalanx Deuce, a massive machete, forget what they named it and D'Capitan. I keep 'em covered in Vaseline. They're like Burt Reynolds in Stripper - they like the way it squishes around in their "microstructure"

The current offering of "The Redeux" looks identical to the original. $525.95. Getcha Some!

It's fun to get a blade from these guys. I wish they'd do cooler finishes on 'em though. The acid wash is so 80s. Something like a Desert Eagle Titanium Gold Tiger Stripe would be pretty sick.

I do still love blades. It's been a long while since I've had a hankerin to buy anything other than one for the kitchen though. The Dexter blade above is really nice. Perfect for slicing spare ribs. Way better than the Chef style knife I'd been using.

Here follow a few fun pics of some additional knives.

Here's a classic Buck 110, but stamped with a birdseye sort-of mark, no clue what it means, but maybe I could Google It, hahaha....

I've got a set of these I bought over a decade ago when they were still pretty cheap. Something like $30 dollars a knife. I was looking at a set of JA Henckles as they certainly have established their marketing. Wüstof, etc, ad nauseum. Then, I thought, naw, what would be cool AF is to have some dudes over, grill some steaks, and then drop a Buck 110 on 'em for the steak knife. Ha! Absolutely Worked! Had some clients come down to Houston from Puget Sound when I was doing some work for the refinery up there. They were staying around the area and I invited them all over for some steaks that I grilled on a little Smokey Joe Weber. I busted out the 110s and it was super pleasing the reaction I got!

Here's another Buck. Can't go wrong with a Buck Knife - according to all of the lore from my HS days back in the Ville. Supposedly with a stout hammer they can cut through a bolt of steel. Yeah, maybe. If it's soft enough. Anyhoo, this is beaut. A 119 also with the weird Birdseye mark after the model number.

All trinkets that survived Harvey thanks to having a two story house. I'm only now starting to even consider buying stuff that could be gone in an instant. Ah! Wait a minute. Here's one of my Buds goofing with a couple of the Zombie Tools blades! DSC_0264.JPG DSC_0265.JPG DSC_0266.JPG

Wondered earlier today if the K-Bar you have is a $10 knife, or did you spend a little more?

Mine was issued to me when I arrived in Iraq. It accidentally fell into my duffel when I headed home.
    Oh well.
