I'm not going to argue semantics with you. There is a general agreement on what the term banned books means and it is not meaning.

The agreement is between you and yourself.
DeSantis already tried and failed bigly.

DeSantis’ claim that there hasn’t been a ‘single book banned in Florida’ isn’t true
In Florida, there are no statewide bans on books. But, school districts can make their own rules. During the 2022 school year, 566 books were banned in the state.

'According to Middle Tennessee State University’s First Amendment Encyclopedia, book banning is defined as a form of censorship that “occurs when private individuals, government officials, or organizations remove books from libraries, school reading lists, or bookstore shelves because they object to their content, ideas, or themes.” Other institutions list similar definitions for book banning.

Under these definitions, there are banned books in Florida.

During the 2021-2022 school year, 566 books were banned across 21 school districts in Florida, according to data tracked by PEN America, a nonprofit organization that defends free expression. Those were the numbers cited in Newsom’s tweet.

There have been 357 books banned during the 2022-2023 school year across 13 school districts, as of May 25, PEN America reports.

DeSantis's policies in FL will generate broad support nationally.
His previous positions on Social Security and other issues will hurt him in a national election.

DeSantis on wokeness is on the right side at this time anyway. People are turning hard against identity politics, anti-White racist bigotry, soft on crime policies that lead to increases in homicide, Black chauvinism, drag queen story hour, biological men in women's sports and spaces, open border policies and the great replacement.

Even on Social Security, if the Dems run Biden again, start playing that video of him wanting to curb SS on loop somewhere.

He can certainly sell returning the US to sanity, he's the very obvious choice for the nation.

His authoritarian abrogation of educational curricula, medicine, reproductive freedom, private sector autonomy, and other Statist policies has its fanatical followers, no doubt.

Just another DuhSantis bill that's hitting a roadblock.

    '
Judge Mark Walker blocks new Florida election law signed by DeSantis this spring'

'Judge blocks new Florida election law, signed by DeSantis this spring, calling it the 'latest assault on the right to vote'

    PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION - RULING

'Calling it Florida's "latest assault on the right to vote," a federal judge on Monday put a temporary hold on a new election law that would have imposed more limits on voter registration efforts.

In May, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed SB 7050, a package of Republican-sponsored reforms to Florida's election system, including a ban on non-citizen immigrants helping register voters. Groups that retained certain voter registration information, such as for get-out-the-vote operations, could under the law also face felony prosecution.

In a blistering decision, US Judge Mark Walker of the Northern District of Florida, agreed with plaintiffs that such provisions are likely illegal.'

'Walker, in his ruling, noted that the decision is not final. But he nonetheless framed the ruling in grand, patriotic terms, noting it came a day before the country recognizes its independence. In particular, he highlighted one plaintiff, Veronica Herrera-Lucha, an immigrant from El Salvador who has permanent residency in the US and works as the the Florida field director for a voter registration group, Mi Vecino.'

An accurate assessment imo. Not sure how Trump can serve from ADX Florence, but I’m sure we’ll work it out.

Can DeSantis Sell His Authoritarianism to the Nation?
He doesn't have any authoritarianism to sell. Laws passed by elected officials are the opposite of authoritarianism. Perhaps you should just ask if his policies that you don't like appeal to the nation.

What is that? Germany didn't have a democratic government in the 1930's and 40's. It had a fascist government.

Negatives can be proven if a closed set is involved (e.g. a bag of 20 marbles)

    Very impressive ATTEMPT natty.

“sirrah”: So, you sir consider yourself a:
Yet, you consider me, a law abiding taxpaying citizen, and your fellow American: inferior, foolish, and of lower status than you, based on the fact that I disagree with you?

So you know the difference between removing pornographic or race baiting books from public schools vs not being able to purchase books outright?

Wait. I just read the thread. You don't. Lol

Dude. It's so typical of progressives to redefine words to **** their agenda. Hey non man. Don't get your front hole twisted. The books are not banned in the state of Florida.

    They were banned in schools.

    Lol

That's why he's saying that their are no books banned in Florida. Florida is much more than public schools. Stop being ridiculous
