    That's your opinion, which is not supported in the Bible. Much of the New Testament are letters to the Church. Christians assembled in private homes.

    The point is that Paul did not give the other churches full value for the money that he collected from them. He was therefore a thief and admitted that he was a thief. He was no different than the con men who run churches today for their own monetary benefit.

    Jesus clearly knew the scriptures and about Abraham and Job in terms of their wealth. When his apostles turned to him and asked, who then can be saved, he said that what is impossible with men is possible with God. In other words, those that place their faith in God are saved no matter how much they may or may not have in their bank accounts.

    Having said that, Jesus also talked about the decitfulness of riches. Clearly it can be a hinderance and probably what Jesus was referring to.

    The Bible also said that wine is a mocker yet Jesus drank wine and turned water into wine.....it all comes down to how responsible are we with what we have been given by God. The bottom-line is that the rich should not trust in their money but in God.
